Chapter 2.
[Part 1: Food Fight]
I was in the girls' room trying to somehow fix my sweater. It was ruined and there was nothing I could do about it. Right in the middle of my lovely blue sweater, was a gigantic ketchup stain.
Todd and Jason had decided that throwing their food around the table would be a nice way to spend lunch. One badly aimed slice of bread (covered in mayonnaise) hit Scarlet Carllson in the face and all hell broke loose. Five minutes later the entire school was involved in a massive food fight. Once again it wasn't like you see in the movies. It was gross and stupid and involved a lot of flying food. Someone threw an open ketchup bottle and the unfortunate recipient was me. There was already a bruise forming because of the force it was thrown with. Someone was very into it. Of course the first thing I did was grab my bag and run as fast as I could. Which isn't very fast.
I finally gave up on trying to wash the stain off and slowly made my way back to the lockers where I had previously left my bag. I spotted Liam nearby, rummaging through his locker. He probably heard me walking towards the lockers because he instantly turned around. His dark hair was falling in the way of his eyes again but he brushed it away with a swift motion. He stared at me for barely a second before bursting into laughter.
"Have you looked at yourself in the mirror?" He asked when he finally collected himself.
My eyes were fixed on the floor as I nodded slightly. "My sweater's ruined" I mumbled.
"Your sweater?" He asked incredulously. He walked towards me. "Have you seen your hair?"
My head snapped up immediately, my eyes wide. "Hair?" Of course I wouldn't think to look at my hair in the mirror. In my defence it was my favourite sweater. He chuckled a bit and smiled wide showing off a set of straight white teeth. I lifted an arm to try and dust off whatever was in my hair but he beat me to it. He pulled out a string of spaghetti from my hair. My hand shot up to my hair. I'd have to take a shower when I got home. Spaghetti in my hair! What had my life become?
"Everything else is fine" He told me. I felt the blood rush to my cheeks. I nodded in response. "How come you aren't covered in food?" I asked him.
He shrugged. "I changed".
This was followed by an awkward silence. Liam wen t back to his locker and pulled out a few books before slamming the door shut again. I grabbed my bag from my locker getting ready to leave. It was only the first day of school meaning we didn't have any classes for the rest of the day. I saw this as my chance to go home and sleep for a few hours. It wasn't long before Nicole stomped in, her nose flaring and her jaw clenched tight. "Have you seen Todd or Jason?" She asked in a dangerously low voice. I shook my head and from the corner of my eye I could see Liam do the same. He looked terrified.
She huffed and turned on her heel before stomping off again. What was that about?
"She's going to kill them both." Liam deadpanned. He was still staring at where Nicole had been moments ago.
He pulled out his phone, quickly sent a text and then turned to me again. He opened his mouth to say something but we were interrupted by Dylan. "Jess wants to go to the café. Do you guys want to tag along?"
Liam just shrugged and said "Sure." They turned to look at me.
"They have great coffee!" Jess added emphasising the 'great'. I hadn't even noticed her until then.
The pressure was too much. Three pairs of eyes staring at me expectantly was too much to bear. I broke. I nodded. It was the worst thing I could have done. People. Socialising. I would have to listen to them talk! I would have to talk to them. I couldn't space out.
"Alright… I guess." I said hesitantly. 10 minutes later, the four of us were seated in Dylan's car ready to go. Dylan had only just started the car when I remembered the stain on my sweater. "I don't think I can go!" I blurted out.
"Why?" Jess' eyes were round. "It's coffee" She talked about coffee like it was a unicorn.
"My clothes are stained" I told them.
"Take them off." Liam said. He smirked and continued "I wouldn't mind" Pig.
Jess and Dylan rolled their eyes at this. "We could drive by your house so you could change." Jess offered. I shook my head "It would be a bother. I'll go next time!"
"It honestly wouldn't be a problem." Dylan insisted.
I nodded slowly, earning myself two smiles.
Hello! Er... I'm sorry for the slow updates. I decided I didn't like this Chapter and had to write it all again! I'll update the next half as soon as I'm done. I can't give you exact dates right now which is a bummer.
