Night over Day

By: Samantha Wadsworth

Night never comes.

Oh, I wish it would come.

I want the darkness to

envelop me and

Swallow me whole.

I want no more sun

And no more day.

I don't want to see

the smiling faces.

The Day must die.

The Night must

Come out and hear

Only me. It must

Have heard my cries.

Night is my sanctuary,

From me, myself, and I.

I must be kept from myself

and must face the sun,

and die.

Now I know why

I chose Night over Day.

Day's sun is cruel,

Night's moon is smooth.
