An invalid argument burns behind my eyes
I want to scream and rage and shout
But know I'll only cry
My pride is always in the way
Of what I feel compelled to say
Blocking me from saying I was wrong
I wasn't wrong! How would you dare
To tell me truths that just aren't fair
Your words I will defy.
Maybe I was wrong this time
But I still won't admit it
Until you take back what you said.
Harsh truth should be a crime.
An invalid argument is all that I have left
But I will stand behind it
My pride is strong, that's why.
