She looked out her window,
tears on her face.
She stared at the black sky
into space.

She saw no stars,
she saw no hope.
She tied the knot
on the rope.

She whispered to
the black night sky.
"Tonight is the night
that I will die."

The knot was tied,
the tears had now dried.
"I promise, I will die,
I wouldn't have lied."

She looked to the stars
that weren't there.
But she said something in a whisper
without any care.

"Wish I may, wish I
might,
I cannot wish upon
a star tonight
for stars are dead
and so are you
and I can't move on
until you do."

The rope around her neck,
she stepped off, into the light.
She was choking on her words
because he died that night.
