Stop

I hear you,
before I see you.
Your laugh,
so full of life,
coaxes my lips
to twitch up into a smile.

Immediately,
they begin to droop,
and that pretty smile,
drops and shatters
on the floor at my feet.

Stop.
I silently plead,
Stop and acknowledge me,
Recognize the feelings,
that are whirling through me.

Stop.
I beg of you.
Tell me you're
just as confused
as I am.

Stop.
If you value my sanity.
I'll take you any way
that you can give yourself to me.

Stop.
If I mean anything to you,
anything at all,
just stop.

Nod.
Wave.
Smile.
Laugh.
Poke me.
Tease me.

ANYTHING.

Just.
Stop.

...

...

...

But you're still oblivious.
And you're still
walking away from me,
without looking back.
