The boy, his overgrown, dirty blond hair pulled back in a crude ponytail, turned his face up to the sky for the first time. Murky eyes the color of rain, he smiled, grime cracking to reveal ivory skin beneath.
The Christian man watched, with his crisp business suit and clean black hair swept back, as a laugh bubbled to the surface, escaping from the hoarse throat of the young boy.
"Why do you smile, when you are not noticed?" He asked.
"Because I know that even if no one else loves me, the Mother Earth and the Father Time still do." The boy replied.
"And how do you know that?"
"Because you noticed me."
