Dear God,

At church today our priest Father Matthew told us to write about what we are thankful to you for. We talked about it afterwards and a few of the kids said they were thankful that they and their families were healthy. It made me think. Everyone agreed. Except me.

I don't know if you know this God but I have a rare disease called Hairy Cell Leukemia. The doctor told me it usually happens to men more than women, and they're usually around 55 when they find out. He said he's never seen it in a 12-year-old girl before. It isn't very very dangerous but it makes me have a lot of bruises everywhere. Mommy says it will make me sick if I'm not careful.

Well I was writing because I was wondering why I'm sick. Did I do something wrong? I know I haven't been saying bedtime prayers for a while. But I'll try harder. I can help around the house too. Because I should get better soon if I'm a good girl and I pray to You. Mommy told me so.

I hope you have Jesus are happy in Heaven God. And I hope Gramma Jane is happy too. I'll pray to you more and be good, I promise! So please help me and all the people who are sick.

I love you God.

Sincerely, Sally
