Daisies

Daisies and violets

They remind me of the place that I call home

In a city of flowers

I'll never try to leave

Grab a bunch of dandelions and start to weave

I run the risk of ticks

But I don't really care

So long as I've got 50 flowers in my hair

I'll mourn at the bug graveyard, then

The plan goes belly up when the mower comes through again

Daisies

Daisies and violets

They remind me of the place that I call home

One moment a pirate ship

A battlefield the next

I talk to myself like a comic full of text

There's a snake in the tree

The one with green and grey

I'll throw bad luck charms at it to make it go away

I'd sleep on this mulch if I could

But ignore the voice in my head that says whether I should

Daisies

Daisies and violets

They remind me of the place that I call home

Too many times I've been let down

Repeated failures follow me around

But now that I've got all these yard toys with me

I'm in the only useless daydream that will ever let me see

Daisies

Daisies and violets

At the end of a long day

Descending my throne

Flowers remind me of the place that I call home
