After that bewildering conversation I was left alone. I had another twenty minutes until my next class started. I decided I need answers. I glanced at the crystal in my hand. How had Izaya said about teleporting? Think of the place you wanted to be? I cleared my mind. I then started picturing my room at home. The curtains, the bed, the carpet... I felt the usual sensation in my stomach and I felt the item in my hand warm up. Seconds later I was home.

It was unsurprisingly silent. I opened the door and walked into the hallway. It was then that I heard glass shatter downstairs. I walked down the steps onto the main floor. I followed the sound that started to fill the house. Sobs. I peaked into the kitchen. My mom was slumped on a chair. Her arms were crossed on the table before her. Her head was laying on the cold tables. Her hair matted on her sweaty face. She grabbed a bottle near her, popped the cap open and took a large swallow. She hiccuped. She then took another large gulp and then continued on with her mumbling.

"Everyone has to leave me. He left. I was stood up. She left. I'm all alone. Stupid shit of a guy! Stupid f-ing daughter had to get bitten! I'm going to live alone and f-ing die broke and unwanted! I had to just get unemplyed and my shitty daughter has to go to that damn school. Why did I give birth to that monster! What the fuck did I do to deserve this crap!"

She took another swig, and then swung the half empty liquor onto the wall in front of her. She grabbed another and continued with her rant.

"Now the house is going to get repossessed. Why can't any f-ing thing go right!"

I didn't know what to do. I just stood there quietly. It hadn't even been 24 hours yet and this was the state my mom was in. What happened? This couldn't have been my fault! She never told me she was unemployed! She never told me the house was going to be taken! How the hell was I supposed to know about any of this when she never said anything! And now she goes on insulting me! Well screw her! She's the one that wanted me to go to the damn school.

I was not returning to that house. I went back to my room and grabbed the essentials. She could stay here by herself for all I cared. She wants to drink her life away than she can. I wasn't going to stop her. I took my diary, some of my prized possessions and left. I didn't need her and she so obviously didn't need me.

When I got to my room I put everything in it's place. I could stay here a small while. It's not like I'd lose anything by staying here. Sure there are monsters all over the place, but it's better than living with someone like her. I wasn't running away. I wasn't leaving her like that. She did it to herself. It's not my job to be there for someone who doesn't care about me. It's not my job to be there when someone I know is hurting. What did she do to get my sympathy? Bastard.

I decided to go exploring. I grabbed my phone, not that I'd be using it to call anyone, and opened the door in my room. I walked through the doorway into the corridor. I closed my door on my way out. In the hallway there were many doors similar to mine. I'd assume all of them led to living quarters like mine did. I glanced to my left and then to my right. Not knowing which direction to go, I just shrugged and turned right. You can't get anywhere if you stood still after all.

I kept walking until I got to a fork on the road. Hearing noise on my left, I went in that direction. I ended up in a living room. There were a few couches and a big TV. Three girls and two guys were sitting in the area. They were pretty loud. From what I could tell, the two blond girls were Succubi. The brunette looked like a witch. Considering her assets looked fake, and the guys seemed a bit too enamored by her, I took it she fiddled with love potions and aesthetic magic. It's not wrong, just a little unfair. I guess if you have some sort of advantage you should use it. There's nothing wrong with that.

The guys seemed pretty buff. The brunette looked like an incubus, while the blond guy looked like a werewolf. The two guys were sitting on the middle couch. The blond girls were on their laps. The Brunette was between the two in the middle seat of the sofa. The girls were leaning in while wearing very scanty clothing. They were flirting very loudly.

"Are you sure you don't want to Matt? " one of the blonds said.

"I can't. I'm waiting until I find my Mate." The blond said. I'm assuming his name was Matt.

"Are you sure? It doesn't look like your friend-" she glanced down to his "friend" and looked back up "wants to wait." She purred.

"Joss I said no. I, I'm not doing it." Joss huffed.

"Man Matt! You have a hot beauty right before your eyes and you wanna wait? C'mon man no one's gonna know" his brunette friend said.

"Val, nah. I don't care if she ever finds out- It just would feel wrong."

"Have it your way man but I'm gonna have fun tonight" Val, the incubus, then grabbed the blond on his lap.

"Vanessa, you wanna go to my room?"

"Sure"

The two left the room.

The witch then spoke, "Joslyn, why don't we give him some tea? "

Joss got up and sighed. "Nah. I'm done. I'm not going to continue if the guy clearly doesn't want me." She seemed more reserved as she spoke. Defeated.

"Jane, I'm going to my room. You do whatever you want." She looked like she was going to cry

"Joss, it's not like that. I like you a lot, honest. It's just that I'm waiting for my mate. You're hot, don't take my rejection the wrong way... It's just that I don't want to do it with anyone but the person I'm destined to be with."

"Don't give me the 'it's not you, it's me' line Matt. You just don't want me. I get that." Joss wiped away a stray tear from her eye. Matt stood up and walked over to her. "It's not like that Joss. It isn't at all." She hugged him. At first he froze, surprised, but then he warmed up and hugged her back.

"Admit it, you just don't want me."

"It's not that... It really isn't... It's just..." he stared at her eyes. He saw the defeat in them. He saw the vulnerability in them. His argument fell apart. She leaned on her tiptoes and kissed him. After a small hesitance, he kissed her back.

"Joss..." he moaned.

"Matt... I really want this"

"I can...t..." they kept on kissing.

Jane leaped off the couch and out of the two's way as the two fell on the couch, still kissing. Their kissing grew more heated. It felt like I was intruding on their moment. It was really weird.

Jane, the witch, quietly huffed. She mumbled, "of course the succubus gets the guy."

It was then when clothes started coming off. I really did not need to see this. I decided to leave. Jane seemed to notice the second I started moving. She appeared before me before I could even blink.
