Graduation Poem

Remember when we were the age of four and five,

We feared school but wandered how 8th grade survived.

The first day of school, there was I, you, he, and she,

But those words were eventually replaced by "we".

We compete amongst ourselves, or at least we tried,

We compete very hard but can accept ties.

Hardship comes and we take responsibility,

And when it is resolved, we are all happy.

Our goals differ, but we have each others' guide,

When one needs help, we're there by his or her side.

Our paths all have many possibilities,

Take your chances and make an opportunity.

The end of our time together draws nigh,

Our one-way road splits, and, here, we say bye.

This last sentence, I find very necessary,

We were, we are, we'll always be a family.
