Nine months of waiting in the womb,
A wait that I never known,
Yet I still came, my future looms.
I took my first steps alone,
I overcame my walking feat in gloom,
I grew up, my muscles got strong, as did my bones.
My friends, lively as I, or so I presumed.
Attached to them I had grown,
But one day, one instilled self-doom.
When I heard, I was still as stone,
Who would have known of what loomed?
Appreciating life I should have,
Too late, he's already down.
What was once white now is a red gown.
