The night's shade and the moon's rays
My solemn comfort in this place
Where the world is different from the one I used to know
Where the world is rampant with villains and no heroes
There are said to be sides
But that is a lie
As men come and fight
As men come and die
Whether it's the morning light
Or the chill of the night
Everyone's stained red
No one's bereft of sin
And no one stops until they're dead
This madness of the world I live in

This is why I prefer the darkness
Over the sun's radiance
As it hides their faces
Make them seem less than humans
Here I can think of them as monsters
Creatures that know no better
Of what they do as they go through it
It helps me that way
It's better that way
