These trees are sleeping, or maybe going bad?
Mad? Angry? Depressed? Sad?
None of you think they're celebrating, do ya?
Throwing up their leaves in a last hurrah.
They survived again through cold, rain, and drought,
So don't think they're sad for fall, they're excited no doubt.
Just look at their confetti, these colors of celebration;
It must be a sign of the purest elation.
They must laugh when humans say they're hibernating,
Who has time while planning next year's world painting?
