A/N: This was my pre-assesment for a creative writing class I'm taking this year. The task was to write a story that develops a character, describes a setting, shows emotion and has proper mechanics- all in less than 250 words. (For the record, the story itself is exactly 100 xD)

Far below, the river flows ...

The stone bridge is cold beneath her hands as she stares down at the river. Her eyes close as she releases her sorrows, her pain, her fears. She is free, flying high above the Earth, dancing and spinning and free. Her shackles are gone and she can fly- no one can ground her.

Far below, the river flows ...

She opens her eyes and stands upon the bridge once more. The river relinquishes her thoughts, and the dark night envelopes her. She looks up at the starry sky and wishes once again to fly ...

Dream again.
