Haunting

I see your radiant face,

And feel your chilled embrace.

Ever since your life was claimed,

My soul and heart have been maimed.

Your transparent hair tickles my cheek,

As I lurk in your cold mystique.

Tormented I stand in the wake of your death,

Longing for the sweet citrus smell of your breath.

The turbulent winds of life have thrown me of course.

My sail of happiness has been replaced by the anchor of remorse.

The only reason I continue to wake.

Is the promise to you I did make.

I promised to you I would continue on.

I promised to you I would embrace the new dawn.

Even if waves crash around me violently,

Through the vehement storm I shall swim silently.

Because a happy life is never easy to weave,

But is one that is worth the struggle to achieve.
