Chapter One

(Earth, 7 days, 14 hours, 35 minutes until Impact)

Everyone is in panic. We would not believe beyond our lives that a comet would soon reach the Earth. Not now, not years, not even decades or centuries. Some of us didn't even believe it was possible, until we received the news 7 months ago. Everybody went insane after that, people were piling up stocks and people were spreading riots across the globe. Some even decided to commit suicide because they knew we would die off anyway. With only 3% of the population able to reach heaven, I felt the most enraging emotion for a human to ever feel, guilt.

I spent minutes on end trying to figure out why we would ever deserve such fate. What did we ever do for God to make this comet reach our way? It's just so messed up that I can't even make out a theory behind it. And even more shocking, I wanted to die too. What is the point of continuing to live throughout our last days if we're all going to die at some point anyhow? I shook my head in disbelief thinking what went all wrong. I then, finally, got myself up. I walked over to the bottle of pills. I thought about my family, friends and everything I've ever achieved. I looked at how almost everybody I knew died. My brother shot himself with a pistol, my sister got herself run over by a truck, my parents let themselves get stabbed by their neighbors and now it's my turn, to die to a drug overdose. I reached for the bottle, but I just couldn't do it. Not yet, I suppose.

I turned around and looked away from the kitchen table. The whole house is just a boggled mess now as I'm the only one who is still living here. I walked away from the kitchen to stare at the pictures one last time. I looked at my iPod. "Oh yeah, no power signal." I thought to myself. I chucked the iPod 7 feet away from me as I glimpsed the last details of the room. I was now sprinting to the front door to leave the house for good. But as soon as I got to the door, I was panting with exhaustion. My heart still continuing to ache from the deaths of almost everybody I had. But there's no turning back now. I opened the door loudly to step out into the limelight. Weakly, I looked outside to see my friend get beaten up by a unknown stranger.

"Alicia!" I cried out.

Alicia then stared at me with tears coming from her eyes, Blood coming from her mouth and nose, and her clothes tattered into pieces. The stranger just looked straight at her, as if he/she was waiting for something. I couldn't hold it any longer. I ran towards the two with all the strength I had left.

"Hannah, please..." Alicia spurted before her mouth was covered by the stranger's hand.

I was now convinced the stranger was male as he spoke in a unfamiliar language. She couldn't understand him and I couldn't understand him. I, as stupid as it sounds, just stood there and watched him for a moment. Then something odd hit me. His clothes were in good condition, other than the blood splattered onto him. He also looked something like a character from an Anime due to not only the language he spoke, but his clothing was a uniform of some kind. He finally noticed me standing here as he turned to face me. However, he spoke in English rather than his native language.

"What?" The guy asked.

I stuttered for a bit at the question, this just didn't make any sense to me. I was just shocked that he was able to speak to me but not Alicia. He let go of her to come closer to me.

"What are you doing here?" I asked him politely.

He walked a bit closer as I was preparing to fight him. Either he was gonna argue with me or he was gonna beat me up too. But not knowing to me, he was gonna do neither. He griped his hand onto my waist, making me very uncomfortable. I closed my eyes for a split second before he made me open them. His expression towards me was a mix of anger and commitment. He then spoke to me finally as I was preparing myself for the worst.

"So, Hannah-chan, do you want to come with me and live or stay here and die?" He so desperately asked me. "My name is Ryuu if you wanted to know my name."

I then widened my eyes. "He actually wants me to live?" I thought. I stuttered at first but I managed to pass it through me.

"I want to live, why do you ask?" I replied back.

Ryuu smiled then turned to Alicia. Alicia, still in tears, yelled at Ryuu to leave. Ryuu wasn't even thinking of fighting her anymore more or so actually taking her with him too. But he had to apologize.

"I'm sorry if I did you any harm Alicia." Ryuu began to apologize. "I knew that inside of you, you wanted to live also, but I didn't realize it until now." Ryuu smiled at her and pointed at her keychain. "May I suggest you keep that chain with you, it looks beautiful." Ryuu complimented.

Alicia stopped crying and posed a weak smile at Ryuu.

"T-thank y-you." Alicia responded quietly.

"Do you want to hold my hand now?" Ryuu questioned.

Alicia stood up realizing that her wounds have magically been healed.

"Please do so." Alicia openly replied

"This is it." I though to myself. "I would be able to live with Alicia by my side." Tears streaked down my face, I wanted to leave this planet so badly now that all I was paying attention to was me, Alicia and Ryuu. I looked at my house one last time before turning back to Ryuu.

"Thank you Ryuu, you've saved both of us." I cried out to him.

Ryuu laughed quietly as he propelled foward towards the sun.

"The portal will guide us." Ryuu cheered.

We then turned around to the streets only to notice Sean flapping his arms around.

"Hey guys, what about me?" Sean yelled.

Ryuu turned his head at Sean to see he wanted to go with us too. But he wasn't sure if he could carry him.

"Uh, are you okay with hoping on my back?" Ryuu asked Sean. "I only have 45 seconds left before I have to go back to my own world."

Sean nodded.

"Come on then!" Ryuu cried.

Sean hoped onto his Ryuu's back as a white glow emerged from within him. I, willingly, stared at Alicia, Alicia then stared at Sean, and then Sean stared back at me. We would all live in another planet peacefully.

"Let's go!" Ryuu cheered.

Seconds later, we were carried into the light with me, my friends and Ryuu as one. But this is just a beginning. After all, what does await us in Ryuu's world?

We'll see.
