There's something different about antique shops.

It doesn't try to radiate beauty like a fashion boutique might,

Screaming- LOOK AT ME! - to the world in a range of high pitched voices.

It doesn't strain to be everything at once like a supermarket might,

Hollering- I AM THE BEST! –with colorful flashes and big bold letters.

It doesn't live to please others like a bakery might,

Smirking- WHY NOT GIVE IN TO TEMPTAION?- with buttery scones and creamy cakes.

It doesn't try to change you like a beauty salon might,

Shrieking- THIS IS HOW TO BE BETTER- with scalding remarks and gossip flying everywhere.

There's something different about antique shops.

It doesn't shout- LOOK AT ME! I AM THE BEST! WHY NOT GIVE INTO TEMPTAION? THIS IS HOW TO BE BETTER! – like the world wants,

But instead it whispers in an ancient voice- Second chances.

Which is all we really need for this flawed world.
