DESOLATE CITY

Everything is so hollow

As I in solitude wallow

In the depths of the city of sorrow

And hoping for a better tomorrow.

Desolate and barren is the city

That destroyed itself on self-pity

While thinking of something witty.

It's no longer enough just to say ''titty''.

Though everything is dark,

There's still a light in the city park,

And under that light there is a lark

Announcing itself in the barren dark.

When the dark disappears

And the citizens dry their tears,

It will be time for a few beers.

Untill then, only their free sneers.
