All of us were back at Lincoln's house. We left the club because no one was really in a partying mood after that. Well, everyone except for Jake.

"Do you need me to drive you home?" Lincoln asked. I shook my head.

"No. Remember? I told my dad that if it was okay with you, I could sleep over at your house." I said, remembering him reading my thoughts while I was in the freaking SHOWER! He smiled, and it made my stomach do flips.

"Yes, I remember." We just sat there and stared at each other, longer than socially acceptable. Some one cleared their throat. Onyx. I glared at him, but then turned my gaze to Max.

"You said that what just happened, was only a small part of what is to come?" I asked him.

"Yes. There are so many more demons, and that was only a small group of them. I'll have to call in my friends immediately."

"How will we know when they are going to attack?" Lincoln asked.

"Bethany." Max answered. I think I was as puzzled as everyone else.

"Huh?" Charlotte and Alice both asked. Then I remembered the small blonde girl that introduced herself to me as Bethany. What did this have to do with her?

"Oh! I'm sorry. I forgot to introduce all of you to my friends I brought to the club. I was going to introduce you then, but we got a bit busy." he said. He pointed to Bethany. "This is Bethany." Jake snorted.

"How can she help us?" he asked. Bethany scowled at him.

"I can tell the future. What can you do to help us?" she asked raising her eyebrows. Jake smirked, and then flexed his muscles. I rolled my eyes.

"I have enough physical strength to demolish a tank." he said.

"Can you see everything? Did you see the demons coming today?" I asked her.

"No, I can't see absolutely everything. I can only see what I'm looking for. I wasn't looking for all of those demons today, I was only watching out for those that where in the corner. I saw them fighting us in the alley, and the angels that they were fighting, were winning. That's why I knew our plan would work. But I was definitely not expecting all of those demons to just come out and ambush us, or I would've said something." she said. I nodded.

"So as long as your watching out for them, then we'll know when they are coming?" I asked.

"Yes, but only when they've made their decision, when they know for sure when they'll come." Nobody said anything, so Max introduced the other guests. The next person he introduced was a girl name Rayne(A/N: Pronounced rain). She was about my height, and she looked like she belonged on a cover of a magazine. She had long blonde hair, that went down to her lower chest, and bright blue eyes. I could tell that Jake liked her. I could also tell that she took a particular interest in Lincoln. Her power was mimicking. She could take any form or shape of anything she is looking at or has seen before. Then he introduced another girl. Bella. She was as tall as Bethany, and she had a pixie-like demeanor. She was small and graceful. She had skin the color of computer paper, it was so white. Bella could move things with her mind. She could even move people, but she said she had to concentrate really hard to move actual people, humans or otherwise. Then there were two men. One of them was introduced as Josh. He was tall, and he had blonde hair and blue eyes. I would've thought he was attractive, if I hadn't ever met Lincoln. The last guy's name is Andrew. He had brown hair, and striking green eyes. Max said he had to leave, and he let all of us get to know each other. The pretty girl, Rayne, immediately skipped over to Lincoln and I. She twirled her hair around her finger.

"Hi, what's your name?" she asked, in the best flirtatious sounding voice she could manage. She didn't even acknowledge me, she kept her eyes trained on Lincoln the entire time. I wish he would say something. This pretty girl is hitting on my boyfriend, right in front of me.

"I'm Lincoln. And this is my girlfriend, Ember." he said, putting emphasis on the word girlfriend. I smiled. He scooted closer to me, and wrapped an arm around my waste. I leaned in to him. She rolled her eyes.

"Hey, Rayne!" Jake called from across the room. She unwillingly pried her eyes away from Lincoln to look at Jake. I think she liked what she saw. She flashed a smile, and then skipped over to him. Lincoln leaned toward my face, so that his lips were brushing my ear. I shivered, and I could tell he was trying to keep from smiling at my reaction.

"I love you." he whispered. I smiled.

"I love you too." I said. One of the guys came over here. Andrew.

"Hi, I'm Andrew." he said, holding out his hand to Lincoln.

"Hello, I'm Lincoln." Lincoln shook his hand. I wondered how old this guy was. His manners were so...old school or formal. He looked as old as me, but I didn't think he was.

"I'm Ember." He smiled.

"I know who you are."

"Seems like just about everyone knows that now." I said frowning.

"Yes," he said dragging out the word. "You've been the topic of a lot of conversations around here."

Everyone got a chance to introduce themselves, and then at ten p.m. Lincoln told everyone it was time to go.

"Can we come back tomorrow?" Bella asked.

"Yes. Tomorrow afternoon all of you can come back." Lincoln answered.

"Can we play truth or dare?" Jake asked. Lincoln shrugged.

"Sure. Everybody wear layers. If we play, we're going to be playing until some one is naked, or some one foreits." Lincoln told them. If you refused to answer a truth or do a dare, you had to take off one piece of clothing.

"Wait, can we play it over at my place?" Jake asked. "I'm staying at The Angel hotel." he said. I looked puzzled.

"I'll explain later." he whispered so low only I could hear it. Then to answer Jake, he spoke louder. "Sure, we can play it at your place. You better stock up on things for dares." Jake smiled.
"Okay, everyone be at my place tomorrow at seven p.m." Jake said. Everybody left. I sat down on the couch, feeling a little tired. Lincoln sat down in front of me.

"Are you okay?" he asked.

"Yes, I'm fine. Just a bit tired." I said with a yawn. "What's The Angel hotel?" I asked.

"The Angel hotel is an underground hotel built especially for angels. That's where Jake, Onyx, Alice, Charlotte, and all of Max's friends he brought to the club live." he said. I nodded. Then my stomach growled. Lincoln laughed.

"Sorry. I forgot about food, with all of this happening. You go take a shower, and I'll fix dinner." he told me. I smiled.

"Thanks," I told him. I grabbed my bag that I brought over, and walked to the bathroom. Walking down the hall, I yelled, "And you better stay out of my head this time!" I heard his laugh from down the hall, and my heart stuttered.

I walked out of the bathroom, and I could smell the food from here. It made my stomach growl, again. I was wearing some black leggings, and a t-shirt that went down to my mid-thigh. My hair was hanging down my back. It was still a bit damp, even after I blow dried it. I walked into the kitchen.

"Hey, Linc, where do you want me to put this?" I asked him. He looked at me, and I wasn't sure what the look he was giving me meant. I got inside his head to see.

Who's in my head now? He thought.

How do you know if I'm reading your mind without reading mine first? Haha gotcha'.

I love you.

I love you to, you know.

"I know," he said. "That's what I wanted to talk to you about." he said. He walked over to the couch and sat down, and patted the seat beside him.

"You wanted to talk about...us?" I squeaked. I hoped this wasn't a break up talk.

"Yes," he said. "I've been reading your mind, and a lot you think something that I don't like."

"You know what they say about eavesdroppers," I told him. "They often hear something they don't like." He smiled, and it took my breath away.

"Em, why all of the time are you so surprised that I'm with you, and you think about going to leave you?" he asked. He took one of my hands and put it in both of his. He stared at me, and waited for my answer.

"Well, because every other stinking girl drools over you. And all of them are so much prettier than me. I mean, you can have any girl you want, and you choose me? It doesn't make sense that some one like you would pick some one like me. And sometimes I think you might leave me, because I know you say I love you and everything, but both of us sound like every other infatuated teenager on the planet." I told him. I looked up into his eyes, and he had a fierce look in his eye. And he looked a little bit mad.

"Ember," he said calling me by my full name instead of my nickname. "This is not just some high school crush. I love you with all of my heart. I would jump in front of a bullet for you, and not even think twice about it." I winced at the thought of me on this earth without Lincoln. "We," he said motioning with his finger back and forth between us. "Are not just infatuated teenagers. First of all, I am above the age of nineteen," he smiled. "And second, we've been dating for four and a half years. And I don't know about you, but I've loved ever single minute of it." he told me. I smiled.

"Me too." He smiled back. And it took my breath away. Again. "Can you stop?" I asked him. He frowned.

"Stop what?" he asked. There was a smile playing at his lips, and he was trying hard to not look amused. He failed.

"You know what I mean." I told him. He smiled, but I don't think he did it just because I told him not to. I opened my mouth to say something, but then his lips crashed down on mine. This time, I was the one who smiled.
