A/N: I've always wanted to start my own series. I'm a little skeptical of my writing skills and would love feedback and comments about this. I hope you all enjoy~

Warning: This story will contain straight and yaoi (MalexMale) pairings so if it's not your cup of tea I suggest you kindly fly away and read something you like. The M rating isn't really needed right now but will be needed in later chapters and probably due to language factors.

"Harley! You're going to be late for class, don't make me get the cold water again!" The parental screech of a female voice ranged upstairs into the room of a slumbering shamble of bright red hair. At the threat of cold water the mess of hair revived itself and sat up.

"I'm up, I'm up! Sheesh mom…" Was the male known as Harley's response to such words his mother gave, this made him even more aggravated than normal but he continued on with his morning routine. Standing at the mirror Harley looked at himself, the black shirt bordered with red trim and pants tied together with his grey converse as he lazily made no attempt in the red tie around his neck. "I'm heading out now, I won't be back till night either I'm going to Shane's to play his new game." Jogging down the stairs he told his mother his plans and grabbed his backpack before heading out of the door to school.

At school their teacher wrote "Dark Literature" on the board in his manuscript explaining the plans for the week, Harley with his desk stuck in the middle row sat at the back. The teacher's words drowned out by the gossip of the ones in front of him. For once it caught his attention.

"Hey did you hear?" One blonde started leaning over to a boy.

"About?" He replied turning to her.

"A cat!" A brunette with pigtails jumped in the conversation now, "There was a cat on Lauren Ella Street and it was on fire..."

"Did it die? Who set it on fire?" The boy said more intrigued.

"It didn't die; it was walking around like normal. I swear. It's the fifth time I've seen it on the same street!" The blonde concluded. Harley's thin red brows furrowed at the nonsense he heard, how stupid could they be.

"You must have been seeing things you dumb blonde, there's no logical way a cat can be on fire." The redhead stated coldly sitting up and folding his arms; this didn't even make any sense. There was one thing he hated more than school and it was people who acted like complete fools. "Seriously it must have been in front of a car's headlights, get some glasses…"

"Shut up Harley, I did see it!" She turned around to him and exclaimed pouting, like a child.

"Why don't you go out tonight and look for it, I dare you too. If you believe it's so unreal." The boy came to her defense facing Harley as well with a mean look on his face.

"Fine then, I will! Prove you stupid dumb asses wrong." Harley snorted laying his head back down on the desk refusing to look the others in their eyes, all through class his mind was focused on that stupid fake cat, focused on their stupid beliefs, and especially that they were just stupid from the beginning anyway. Only when the bell ranged he was relieved of his class duties for the day free to leave the stupidest of people behind.

"Hurley!" Shouted an older male with blue hair and green eyes, he smiled waving down the younger boy, "You still coming over to play Zombie Brain Smasher Brawl Ultimate Addition~."

"I don't know, I have to do some stupid crap tonight…" Harley muttered putting his hands in his pockets as they walked off the school's property towards the sidewalk; he really wanted to see about the so called flaming cat itself.

"Whatever it is it can wait," The blue haired senior started placing his arm around his friend's shoulder and poked his check annoying. "I'll even let you play as Skinner. One time offer dude."

"Skinner huh? Wow you really want me to play giving up your main character like that." Harley removed Shane's arm from his person and folded his arms placing a hand on his chin. "How about this, we play until dark then I have to go do a thing."

"Oh I see how it is, fine."

"Good now let's go cause I'm going to beat your ass Shane." Harley said sprinting across the street towards Shane's house.

"Harley! Wait car!" Shane screamed making Harley turn around, it was too late though. The car couldn't apply its brakes fast enough before crashing into the redhead. Then everything turned pitch black.

Harley opened his red crimson eyes and sat up instantly, looking himself over it was perfectly fine. No scratch or bruise lay on his body or clothes. It was dark though, like immensely dark. Quickly looking around he saw that he was still in his neighborhood, eyes fluttering to the street sign above him. "Lauren Ella Street… This can't be right... I was-"

"Hit by a car~" Said an almost melodic voice out of nowhere, Harley looked around in shock only to find small sparks of fire embers floating around. He reached out and touched one letting the dot of life settle in his palm and die like a snowflake; it was warm but did not burn him. "I'm sorry. Not really, how can your face be soo purrfect in the midst of danger? It's fascinating for a human." The voice became clearer as a large grey cat jumped on the sidewalk; three darker stripes were imprinted on its back and on the back of each leg.

"Are… you talking... To… me… "The boy questioned looking down at the cat, this was getting weirder and weirder by the moment, being hit by a car then facing this cat in god knows where.

"Of course, who else would I be talking to?" The feline looked up before suddenly combusting, its fur becoming engulfed in flames. Harley screamed in what he saw and backed away, turning around he ran away from the fire to find someplace else to go and get away from this absurdity. The cat leaped in the air, glorious flame trailing behind its form while Harley looked up at it only to bump into a male falling down with a grunt. "Why are you running from me?" the familiar voice now coming from the male as he stepped into the light of the street lamp, his skin was light grey and it strangely complimented his the messily layered raven hair with powdered red tips. His eyes were heterochromia; left was dark red the right emerald green. A studded black collar wrapped around his neck, his shirt had ripped sleeves and decorated in a vertical red and white stripped pattern similar to that of a carnie and his cargo shorts touched his knees complimented with black sneakers to finish.

"Cause some freaking cat thing jumps out of nowhere when he's supposed to be fucking dead!" Harley said loudly as he backed away, once in the light he noticed the feline features that studded the man. Grey ears and ringed tail easily shown, was he dreaming? Was this some sort of limbo or hell?

"Dead? Cat thing? I'm hurt… truly." The taller male waked closer, his tail drifting as he placed a hand to his chest in mock sorrow. "I have a name you know, it's X~" X purred lowly picking the other up from the ground, he looked more slender compare to Harley but it still didn't dismiss he was a cat. Or the fact he was just recently on fire.

"I don't care what your name is, I just want to go back home you ca-" Harley was interrupted bluntly as X grabbed his chin, the hybrid leaned in placing his lips against the angry redhead making him squirm and fight back but his strength wasn't prosperous enough. His lips were oddly warm; severely warm like someone who had a fever and it burned uncomfortably he couldn't stand it.

"Aah, Cherry Boy. Makes sense why you're so angry." X mumbled as he let him go, a soft chuckle in his chest. "We're bound to meet again, so I'll fix that for you next time if you want?"

"W-Why!? I.. Wha.. "Harley baffled quickly wiping his mouth a soft blush tinting his cheeks. "Why'd you just kiss me!?" He said attackingly, even his stance was aggressive. "Explain yourself!" The grey skinned male only turned his head, a single ear flickered as he sighed.

"Sorry Cherry, I'd looove to but Fang's calling to ruin my fun." He answered remorsefully walking back into the dark shadows.

"Don't call me that! And you're not going anywhere until you explain!" He reached out in anger, one snap of clawed fingers and everything flew up in flames instantly blinding the boy as he covered his face. A loud gasp escaped his lips when his eyes flew open again and he uncovered his face. He was sitting in a hospital room.
