Driving Me Crazy.

Nine fifteen, Monday, August twenty third.

Andy.

….

I woke up smelling the smell of pancakes.

I got up, grabbing my eyeglasses and making my way into the kitchen.

Levi's at the stove flipping over a pancake.

"Hey Levi," I greeted carefully

Levi looked over at me, smiling huge.

"Hi Andy, happy birthday,"

"It's my birthday?" I questioned, going over to the edge of the kitchen to look at the calendar

"I'll be danged," I smiled, walking back into the kitchen. "I'm sixteen."

Levi put the pancake he was cooking on a plate, putting it on the counter.

"Hey, listen, I just wanted to say I'm sorry about last night. I shouldn't have let those guys pick on you like that. Do you forgive me?" He asked, his eyes hopeful

No. You're a complete psycho.

I nodded. "Yeah, I forgive you." I never was one for insulting people. Eh.

Levi grinned.

"Good." He walked over to the fridge and got the syrup out of it, walking back over to the counter. "How do you like the place? We got in so late last night and you we're asleep, you didn't really comment on it."

I looked around, seeing that the walls are a tannish white, there's a duel sink and an electric stove; along with the other essentials, of course.

"It's nice, I like it." I smiled.

"Good. I knew you would." Levi poured a rather large amount of syrup on the pancakes on the plate.

"Here you go," He handed me the plate. "Happy birthday,"

He patted my head and went into the other room.

Talk about mood swings.

….

Twelve thirty.

Anthony.

….

I sighed, looking down at the peanut butter and jelly sandwich I packed myself.

I miss Lance. It hasn't even been a whole day and it's already driving me crazy being here without him.

"You look like someone just ran over your puppy," A very feminine voice said

I looked up, seeing my exgirlfriend, Gina.

Yes, I dated girls briefly.

I sighed. "Hey Gina,"

She sat in front of me with her tray.

"What's wrong?" She asked

I started peeling the crust off of my sandwich.

"I miss Lance," I stated, a bit more to myself than to Gina

"Lance? Who's Lance?" Gina questioned

"My boyfriend," I sighed.

"Oh, I think I met him in Spanish class. He's not here today."

"I know, he's, he's," I bit my lip hard to keep from crying.

"He's what? Anthony, are you okay?" Gina wondered

"He's in California," I whispered

"Why?"

"His Mom, she found out we skipped. And that we went to a karaoke bar. She didn't want him to turn out like her." I explained

"You know this, how?"

"I went with him to the airport this morning, and on the way back she told me."

"Oh," Was her response.

"Yeah," I nodded, tears filling my eyes.

I looked over at her. "Gina?"

"Yeah?" She responded softly

"Is it normal to feel like someone just stabbed you?" I wondered, tears slowly making their way down my face

"Yeah," Gina nodded. "Yeah, it is."

Gina got up and sat next to me, putting her arm around my shoulders.

"Listen, I'm sorry about what happened with Gino. I should've told you-"

"Gina, I'm not mad about that anymore. I was still trying to figure myself out. I'm sorry, for everything."

"Speaking of, where is Gino? I thought he went to school here." I asked

"He's at Texas University for the week, he's thinking about going there."

"That's right, he's older than us." I realized

"Yeah," She nodded.

"Well, looks like we're both in need of a friend. Are we cool?" I questioned

"Yeah, we're cool."

….

California time, nine thirty.

Lance.

….

I sighed, walking to my next class.

I miss Anthony so much, it's driving me crazy. It didn't even occur to me that when I got to California, I'd be driven straight from the airport to the school, get my schedule, and start class. I haven't even met my dorm roommate yet. And that means I haven't called Anthony yet either

I looked down at my schedule and my map. My next class is Spanish, yay.

Note my sarcasm.

I walked into my Spanish class.

"Hola senor Johnson, como estas?"

I looked at the blackboard. It has Ms. Garcia written on it.

"Hola senora Garcia, soy bastante bueno," I closed my eyes thinking back to what Gina told me; I opened my eyes smiling. "Mi te ves preciosa hoy la,"

Ms. Garcia smiled brightly at me.

"Why thank you senor Johnson, good to see someone who understands the language of Español. You may take a seat anywhere you like."

"Muchas gracias," I smiled, going back and sitting next to a blonde girl.

….

Georgia time, two thirty.

Anthony.

….

I sighed, walking towards my last class with Gina.

"Hey Anthony, do you maybe want to go do something after school? To get our minds off of everything, you know?" Gina questioned

"Sure, I definitely need something to distract me." I nodded.

"Me too,"

….

Three thirty.

Andy.

….

I smiled, observing my tattoo that Levi had just finished.

"I love it," I nearly whispered

The tattoo is of the number sixteen, in big bold calligraphy worth letters.

"I'm glad," Levi smiled, walking over to me, his hand resting on my waist.

My eyes flickered from his back to my tattoo.

"So, how long do I have to leave the plastic wrap on it?" I wondered

"About four to six hours,"

Levi's hand slid into my back pocket, lightly squeezing my butt.

I quickly backed away from him, looking at him with a questioning look.

"Levi, what're you doing?"

"Nothing, just showing you how much I love you," He winked, walking back into the front of the shop.

I took a deep breath, sitting down on my desk chair.

He scares me.

….

Four fifteen.

Anthony.

….

"You're kidding," I said, unbelieving of what Gina just told me

"No, I'm not. On our four month anniversary, he took me to a carnival, and the when we were on the Ferris wheel, he puked on me." Gina laughed, rolling her eyes. "Let's just say, he has a teensy little fear of heights."

"And what did you do?" I wondered

"I sat in the bucket type thing we were riding in with puke on my jeans until we stopped."

I snickered.

"It's not funny,"

"Yeah it is,"

"No," She picked up a fry and threw it at me. "It's not."

I picked the fry up and threw it her.

Only, when I threw it, it missed her.

And hit the guy behind her.

I smiled sheepishly as the guy turned around and glared at me.

Gina busted out laughing.

"Now that was funny."
