You are like the perpetual sunrises of the far north,
Breaking through the darkness, rising
Just above the horizon,
Showering golden light on me,
But never coming close enough to truly warm me.
Just when I begin to reach out, you fade, leaving a dust of stars and faint blue clouds in your wake,
And we both retreat to our shells of comfortable solitude,
Quietly admiring the stars and our unique places among them.
Never quite reaching through the sky.
