Extended summary:

Even with Bethany's salary added to her own, Juliet doesn't have enough money to live on her own anymore. This means that in this new town she has to live with roommates; Mara, a hopeful artist, Lailah, an upcoming model, and Misa, a devoted babysitter.

These girls are all young and desperate for something, anything, at all to happen so their life is exciting and worth living. Never in one million years would these girls think that meaningless conversations at the coffee table and laughing over trivial things could become such precious memories.

Everyone gets lonely sometimes, and people are guaranteed to make mistakes, but when you are running from yourself nothing is going to change.

Dear Juliet,

We are all waiting for you to come home. Do you know how long it has been? I never stopped counting the days. I miss you… Well, we all do.

Remember the first night? We all sat on the shiny tiles with that little floor fan blasting cool wind into our faces. You laughed and said something like, "I wish life could be this simple all the time." Sadly, it can't.

You taught me how to live and I hope I made your life worth living. If it wasn't for you I think I'd be dead right now.

Love Mara.

Ps, I'm expecting my first baby! Exciting isn't it? Bethany Lissa VanHault. I know you won't approve. Heck, you'd be beyond disapproval; you'd slap me senseless, wouldn't you? "Bethany was a dirty, useless girl. She is gone. She is dead to me," Was along the lines of what you always said.

Sorry to say this but you were wrong. So, very wrong.

Soundtrack

White Houses – Vanessa Carlton

Crashed on the floor when I moved in

This little bungalow with some strange new friends

Stay up too late, and I'm too thin

We promise each other it's 'til the end

Romeo and Juliet – Dire Straits

Come up on different streets they both were streets of shame

Both dirty both mean yes and the dream was just the same

And I dreamed your dream for you and now your dream is real

How can you look at me as I was just another one of your deals?

Mr. Brightside – The Killers

Jealousy, turning saints into the sea

Swimming through sick lullabies

Choking on your alibis

But it's just the price I pay

Destiny is calling me

Jealous Guy – John Lennon

Oh my I didn't want to hurt you

I'm just a jealous guy

I was feeling insecure

You might not love me anymore

Heartless – Kanye West

You run and tell your friends that you're leaving me

They say that they don't see what you see in me

You wait a couple months then you gonna see

You'll never find nobody better than me

Over My Head – The Fray

And suddenly I become a part of your past

I'm becoming the part that don't last

I'm losing you and it's effortless

Without a sound we lose sight of the ground

In the throw around

Revelry – Kings of Leon

Born to run, baby run like a stream down a mountainside

With the wind in my back I don't ever even bat an eye

Just know it was you all along who had a hold of my heart

But the demon and me were the best of friends from the start

When We Were Younger – You Me at Six

When I was younger, you never said

When I was older, I'd feel helpless

When I was younger, you shone the light

And now that I'm older, it doesn't shine bright

A Match into Water – Pierce the Veil

I know that you're in pain

But if we die at the same time does it still scare you?

Make me a promise here tonight. Let's go!

Dreamless in early graves, I never want it to be this way

The chemicals will bring you home again

Celebrity Status – Marianas Trench

Sorry everybody here will never be somebody clean.

There's a piece of me they're throwing back at us,

And they will buy you and sell you for celebrity status

Irresistible – One Direction

Midnight doesn't last forever

Dark turns to light

Heartache flips my world around

I'm falling down, down, down,

That's why.

Last Kiss – Pearl Jam

I found the love that I knew I had missed.

Well now she's gone even though I hold her tight,

I lost my love, my life that night.
