Kylie Storm

Twenty-year-old Kylie Storm stood in the security line waiting her turn to get her passport and ticket checked. She sighed wearily remembering her orders from the council to track down three elementals, three untrained elementals being hunted by the Order. Under the guise of a college student studying abroad with Baylor University to Maastricht in the Netherlands, Kylie planned to search for the three unknown elementals. The first hurdle of the trip was to get there. The TSA officer looked over her passport and handed it back. She moved to yet another line to send her backpack and duffel through the x-ray machine. She used three bins for her shoes, occupants of her pockets, jacket, laptop, cell phone, and iPad.

After collecting all her items, she walked up stairs to the terminal. The director of the trip handed her a manila folder that contained her first meal installment for individual travel, Eurorail pass, and several other important items. She went with two other members of the trip, Mary and Jessica, to scope out a snack and drink before the nine hour plane ride. The three ended up grabbing food from an Einstein's Bagels, although Kylie just grabbed a Diet Coke. Kylie's phone buzzed with a text from the Head Council Member.

Targets identified. More info sent to your iPad. Check-in when you arrive in Amsterdam.

Kylie sighed and ran a hand through her short black hair. The plane arrived sometime after that. The students and other passengers boarded and the plane was getting set on the runway. Kylie tried to move into a comfortable position but sitting in one of the two middle seats of the middle aisle of a Boeing 747-400, meant that no position would be comfy. The plane took off and soon the group was airborne. The attendants immediately began taking drink orders. Kylie placed her iPad on the tray, put her ear buds in, cranked up her Flight playlist, and took a sip of the Coke. After accepting a hot towel for her hands, she opened the iPad and scrolled to the page with the Nook app. The first thing that popped up when she opened it was an identification screen. She typed in her login information and then placed her right thumb on the glass surface. The screen went dark and then info pages began popping up.

The final picture in the file caught the girl by surprise. Apparently, all three had known each other through high school band. They had been good friends and had clearly discovered their abilities and the risks that accompany those. Kylie sat back and assumed they would be together in their running.

"Beef or pasta," the attendant asked after tapping Kylie's shoulder.

"Pasta," she stated.

The tray took the place of the iPad and the girl ate her dinner. After the meal, Kylie turned up her music and leaned her head back, closing her eyes. The rest of the flight was uneventful and once it had landed, Kylie made her way back out to the baggage claim area. After collecting her suitcase, the class headed to the bus for a two hour bus ride to the dorms they would be staying at.

Made it to Amsterdam. Looked over the info.

The bus ride remained peaceful. Kylie watched the rolling hills of the Netherlands. The coordinators of the program welcomed the students and then Kylie was given the key to her room and then began unpacking. The trip to the local mall proved helpful for Kylie to discover several supermarkets. Kylie felt jet lag and after unpacking, she fell asleep at 8:30.

The next morning, breakfast was at 7:45 and consisted of meat, cheese, bread, and hardboiled eggs. Kylie ate her meal and then the group moved to the University grounds to be welcomed by the director and to pick up their textbooks. Then the walking tour around the city occurred. Kylie especially loved being near the water due to her powers: water, electricity, fire, and spirit. That night, the Council sent more information to Kylie and she looked over it. There were surveillance videos from Rothenberg shops and hotels that showed the three teens looking disheveled. The last video revealed that the Order was searching Rothenberg. Kylie had one more day before she would be in the same vicinity of the three teens. She only hoped that they could hang on.

This is my version of writing about my adventures while studying abroad. The characters are based of all real people, the places will only be places that I actually travel, and the plot and story idea are completely fiction. I haven't yet mastered my powers so the council would never send me out into the field. If you do review great, if you don't that's cool too. This is really just the best way I know how to convey my journey this summer. I'll try to update as often as I can.
