He stood before the gates of heaven awaiting God's judgment on the life he had lived. God sat on a throne delivering the judgment that sealed the fate of all that kneeled before God. A line of men, women, and children was between him and his judgment. One by one they were delivered their ultimatum: Heaven, Hell, or Purgatory.

And so on and on. Some argued for their placement, but there is nothing to argue. God knows all and the judgment is final. Some accepted their fate, knowing that it was the only fate for them. Some already knew their fate and only wanted God to confirm the life they had lived. Some were confused and had received a judgment that they had not expected. Each man, women, or children had taken one of the three paths: the gates to heaven, the stairway to hell, or the pathway to purgatory.
