A short poem I wrote. It is about two characters from a story I had on here before I deleted it. This is how I imagine they might say "I love you" for the first time.
Poetry isn't my strong point. I've very recently gotten into writing it and taking it seriously.
I Love You
Curiosity and intrigue,
A spark felt at first glance.
So many hours spent on wonder,
If only they just gave it a chance.
Basking serenely together,
On the warm golden sands.
Gazing longingly into each other's eyes,
Content with holding hands.
A smile spread across her lips,
A breeze whispering through her golden hair.
How happy their lives are since that first spark,
So free and perfect without a single care.
Oh, how much he loves her,
Her love sings to him like a single voice.
There was another girl,
But his heart made its choice.
Running her fingers through his hair of brown,
She yearns to kiss him after so long.
His sea green eyes the portal to his soul,
She knows his heart is where she belongs.
The words escape her lips with a whisper,
"I love you."
With all the love in his heart he replies,
"I love you, too."
