I woke up from a very long, restless night. I hardly got any sleep due to my curiosity about the letter. I looked at the clock and it read 8:25. I got off of my bed and looked at my desk. The letter was sitting there with its black writing. I went to the desk and grabbed it. I sat on my bed and just stared at it. I didn't want to open it but curiosity got the best of me. I pulled out a folded piece of paper, a picture and a note. The picture looked as if it was taken in a hospital room.

There in the picture was a woman laying in the bed; holding a baby and a man sitting to her left. The man and woman were looking at the camera. The woman had bright blonde hair with bright blue eyes and was wearing a hospital gown. The man had messy black hair and black eyes he was wearing a black and white suit. The baby was sleeping in the woman's arms. I put it down and read the note, "Our first ever family photo."

I put it down and picked up the folded paper. I stared it for a long time, battling curiosity, and decided not to open it. I put everything back into the envelope and put it on my desk. I looked at the time and saw it was now 9:23. I got dressed, left my room, and went to the kitchen. There was no one in it. I made a sandwich and ate at the table. I cleaned off my plate and went into the living room. No one was there.

I decided to just sit down and think about what I had to do today. I wondered should I wait for Louis at Tommy's and have him show me the place. I decided against that. If I want to get done quickly I need to go there. I knew the walk was going to take 35 minutes. I decided it was best to spend my day outside. I got out of the living room and approached the door.

I touched the handle and I got shocked. I passed it off as nothing and opened the door. Like always I met with the sun's rays. I closed the door and went down the steps. I saw some of the smaller boys playing street hockey.

"Morning Rick," mom said from the garden.

"What you up to today, Rick?"

"Not much." After that she went back to gardening. I decided to watch the kids play to pass the time. It was a good game to relieve boredom and waste time to.

"Hey Rick, what's up," Lester asked walking up to me.

"Not much, you?"

"Not much." I noticed a red mark on his cheek.

"Toying with the girls again?"

"Hey got to strike when the iron's hot." I smiled and shook my head and he laughed at this.

"So what happened?"

"Well Liz came over today and I decided to try and make my move. At the end of it all I got slapped and forced out the house." I laughed at this and he pushed me.

We saw some of the teenagers putting up basketball goals. We both looked at each other and we both knew what was about to go down.

"Oi let us have a one on one real fast," I shouted at the people putting up the basketball goals. They got the goals up and passed the ball to me.

"You want the ball," I asked Lester. He nodded and I gave it to him. He checked and the game began. He got on the court and tried to take a shot but I smacked it down. I grabbed the ball and dribbled it down the court. Lester was on my tail and when I got near the three-point marker I jumped. I shot the ball in mid air and watched it go into the basket.

Lester grabbed the ball and tossed it to me. I checked it in and tried to get past him but he smacked the ball out of my hand and made for the goal. I ran after him but he was to fast and made his shot. Lucky for me it hit the rim and bounced right in front of me. I grabbed it and ran towards my goal. Lester was now a few feet behind me and I shot it from behind the three-point line again. It soared and made it.

It went like that for most of the time. Lester made a few shots but I made the most.

"Today's not your day," I said to Lester and he shrugged. We went to our homes and I took a shower. When I came out it was 2:45. I decided it was best to run so I high tailed it. I got there when the kids were getting out. As soon as they saw me they got defensive. Most of the girls started to cower in fear. The guys and the rest of the girls readied themselves for a fight.

I was in their territory and I wasn't welcomed. I walked toward the school, paying them no mind. I saw the gates and walked right through.

"Oi you," someone screamed from behind. I turned around and saw a man walking toward me. He had a brown jacket over a white shirt and a black tie. His pants were brown and his shoes were black. He seemed to be in his late forties early fifties and he was bald.

"How may I help you," I asked him.

"'Help me?' Please you and I both know that you don't belong here. So how about you do us all a favor and leave. This way we don't have to worry about the filth you brought in here."

"I know that but the principal told me to come. So if you would excuse me I need to go and see him." I turned around and started to walk away but the man grabbed the collar and tried to pull me back. I slipped out of the shirt, turned around and readied for a fight. This startled everyone.

Me being shirtless didn't bother me. The man quickly tossed me back my shirt and I grabbed it.

"Have you no decency," he asked while I put on my shirt.

"Sorry but you were the one who grabbed my shirt and when someone grabs my shirt I slip out of it. It's a reflex of mine." Just then the door to the school opened up and out came the lady that came over yesterday. She walked over to the man and me.

"Already getting into fights are we?"

"Nope he just decided to tug on my shirt and reflexes kicked in." The man looked at the woman with confusion.

"He is here to see the principle. Now come along, boy." She started to walk away. I followed and the man stood there like he just got slapped. I walked through the doors and was welcomed into the cleanest building I have ever seen. The walls, floors, and ceilings were white and it just sparkled. The only thing that stood out was the brown doors. I followed the lady for a long time; she never once looked back at me.

We came to a huge brown door and she and me entered. I came into a spacious room with black colored walls, cement flooring, and a white ceiling. There were a few white chairs and in the middle of the room was a brown desk. There was a door at the end of the room. She went to the desk and sat down.

"You can go in," she said pointing into the room and started to do stuff. I went to the door and reached for the handle. Again I got shocked but I passed it off as nothing. I entered another spacious room. The same colors were on the walls, floor and ceiling as last time. There were two red chairs in front of a brown desk. Sitting behind the desk was a man working.

I closed the door, watching the men, and the man looked up. He smiled and leaned back in his chair.

"You look so much like your father, Rick." I stood there frozen. How does he know my dad?
