On the nineteenth of July

It was a cloudy and downcast day

When I couldn't understand why

It seemed all my friends went away

'Til the day was nearly gone

And we went on a usual walk

You seemed to just go on

Nothing much to say, I missed when we'd talk

On the nineteenth of July

When my mind was out of sync

And I believed the lie

Instead of look closely and think

On the nineteenth of July

You were still my friend

And looked me in the eye

Assuring me our bond didn't end

And it began to rain lightly

I couldn't really see

You led me by your hand

As I held your finger

You cared for me;

Didn't have any demand

In that moment I wanted to linger

On the nineteenth of July

We had a five minute tea party, you didn't ask why

You just wanted to be with me

On the nineteenth of July
