OMG! I am so sorry this took so long! DX I was stuck on a church name, so I asked my pastor what she wanted to name her church before her husband named it, and then I kept on forgetting it!

So, here's chapter 2! I hope you enjoy it! ^^

Why did I agree to come here?

This… church… is absolutely strange. Was it possible to have so many happy people in one place? Everyone was chatting and hugging each other, kids were running around and playing, everything just seemed… happy.

Before I knew it, this bubbly, fiery red-head walked up to me with a smile—a real, genuine smile—plastered across her face.

" Hi!" She greeted brightly, pulling me into a hug. I froze immediately and tensed. Regardless, she hugged me anyway.

" My name's C.j." She introduced.

" I-I'm Nathan." I replied.

" It's nice to meet you, Nathan!" C.j said. " Welcome to Body of Christ Ministries!" I blinked a few times at her. Why the heck was everyone so happy!?

Get out of there! They're all going to betray and get you killed!

I felt a tug on my sleeve and looked down at Amy, whom was staring intently at me.

" It's okay, we're not going to judge you." She said in a quiet and calm voice. I swallowed and nodded, looking around at the church.

" So, he came with you Tani?" C.j asked, chatting with Tania.

" Yep. He was one of Amy's treasures." Tania paused. " God's got something planned for him."

" Ooh! I can't wait to see Jesus work!" C.j squealed. What are they talking about? I wondered, following Amy into the part of the church called 'the sanctuary'. I guess this is where they do the music and sermon.

At least six little kids came up to Amy and nearly tackled her onto the floor, shouting her name.

" We missed you!"

" Where'd you go?"

" Can we come to your house?" Amy just laughed and talked with the kids a while as I stood there, standing out like a sore thumb.

" Hey, stranger." I turned and saw a woman with long, platinum blonde hair wearing a fancy yellow blouse and a matching skirt. Just by looking at her, I felt a bit intimidated.

" Um… hi?" I replied awkwardly and the lady laughed.

" I'm Cynthia Cassidy." She greeted and held out her hand. I took her hand and shook it.

" Nathanial Jamison. Pleasure to meet you." I said.

" Nice to meet you too." She smiled. I put my hands in my pockets and looked down at the floor.

" So, Nathanial—"

" Um, you can call me Nathan." I stated. She nodded.

" Nathan, where are you from?" I swallowed and explained how I lived here in Nevada for about twenty years before moving away to California. Not liking it there, I moved back.

" I see… And from what Tania told me, you're homeless?" I slowly nodded.

" Alrighty," She stated after a breath. " Well, we'll talk about this some more after church tonight." With that said, she walked into… I believe it's called the 'fellowship hall'.

Get the hell out of there NOW! I flinched at the voice that suddenly shouted. Amy tilted her head.

" Are you okay?" She asked. I nodded and forced a smile.

" Yeah. I'm fine." I muttered. Amy kind of puffed out her cheeks and ran off. I raised an eyebrow and watched as Tania, Sam, C.j, and another guy went up on the stage. Tania grabbed the guitar, Sam stood at the Piano, C.j grabbed a microphone and the other guy sat at the drums.

" You have drums in your church?" I asked as Amy walked me to a row of seats.

" Yup." She answered happily. " It was different at first, but in the bible it says in Psalm one fifty to praise Him with the clanging cymbals and the clashing cymbals. That's the drums." I nodded in understanding. Did it really say that though?

" Good evening everyone." Tania greeted which was replied with a few 'good evenings'. " Alright, let's pray." I respectfully bowed my head and closed my eyes. Tania said a moderate prayer and sealed it with an 'amen'. With that, worship—I think it's called—started.

After church, I sat in the fellowship hall, head in my hands. This, I thought. Is a church!? The worship was like nothing I've ever seen, it was loud and they didn't even sing hymnals. They were like, modern rock or pop or whatever. And then after that Cynthia's husband, Mark, got up and talked for a few moments before handing the microphone over to Cynthia. She then dismissed the kids to their classrooms and taught everyone about… I think it was 'the root of all kinds of evil'.

" What'd you think?" I looked up at Amy, who sat down in front of me.

" I… I don't know…" I answered honestly. " It's like nothing I've ever seen. Is this seriously a church?" Amy giggled.

" Yeah. We get that a lot." Amy sighed. " It's different here, but everything they do is according to scripture. Cynthia doesn't make anything up and she goes straight to the bible for an answer. That's what they teach us." I simply nodded.

She's lying to you. They don't give a crap about you. They just want what you can give them. I held my right temple and groaned. This voice was giving me a headache now.

" Nathan!" I looked over at C.j waving me to come over to her. I slowly got up and followed as she lead me to the altar where Tania, Sam, Mark, Cynthia, and that other guy was.

" How'd you like church?" Tania asked. I waited for a moment before shrugging.

" I… I dunno… It's nothing I've ever seen before…" I muttered, looking at my feet.

" Do you know what we believe here at Body of Christ Ministries?" Cynthia asked. I shook my head.

" Well, this is what we believe. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and came to earth to redeem us from our sins. We believe that He died on a cross and took on the worlds' sins to save us all. That He rose from the dead and is now seated next to the Father in Heaven. We also believe in the Holy Spirit, do you know who that is?" I shook my head again.

" The Holy Spirit," Cynthia continued. " Is the Spirit of God that dwells inside of us when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. He helps guide us in the truth and lead us into everlasting life. Now, we all wanted to talk to you." I looked at each person that was here, then looked around me and saw that everyone else was in the fellowship hall. I looked back at the pastor.

" Nathan," Tania started as she stood. " Listen, the Lord has told me a lot about you. I know you're not homeless." I stiffened. How'd she know!? I questioned.

" I know that the day that Amy found you, you'd just gotten out of prison from an anonymous bail. Before you freak out, I just want to tell you that I didn't personally know this. The Lord told me as soon as we met you."

" B-But how!?" I almost squeaked. " How do you know?"

" By the Holy Spirit." Tania answered. " You see, me and the Holy Spirit are close. When He sees someone that the Father has plans for, He downloads me with information. Now, I want you to listen to me. God isn't mad at you. In fact, He's got a huge purpose for you. He wants you to see Him as the Lord and Savior of your life, not a religious god that just wants to control you. You see, people often misunderstand the Lord. They either teach that He's all about hellfire and brimstone or that once saved, always saved.

" But, God is a loving and merciful God. He sees you and knows everything you've ever done and everything you've ever been through. And He wants me to tell you, Nathan, that despite the wicked and horrible things you've done, He loves you and is waiting for you to come to Him." I felt something slide down my face and hit the floor. Bringing a hand to my cheek, I realized that I was crying. God? Loving me? How was that possible? I've killed hundreds of people. How can the God of the universe love me?

" Before you claim that God couldn't love you, He does. Because He brought you out from prison into this church." Tania said. I slowly nodded in understanding.

GETOUTOFTHERENOW! That voice suddenly screeched. I winced and held my head with one hand.

" Now, I have a question for you, Nathan." I looked into Tania's eyes.

" Do you want Jesus to come into your life?" She asked.

Haha... cliffhangers... Hate to read 'em, love to write 'em. XD I'll try and write some more in my free time! Until the next chappy! R&R please!
