Verse 1:

I hear a whisper in my ear, it's a voice I know well,

but I know it cannot be, for you're no longer here.

I would do anything to see you one last time.

Refrain:

Now you're gone, lost to this world.

Never to be seen,

but through the blades of grass, rustling in the wind;

the waves on the water, calling me in; the sun beating down,

the rain on the ground, the snow falling from the sky.

But you're gone.

Verse 2:

I think of you always, not a day passes by,

when I don't 'member your smile or the glint in your eye.

As the rain pounds down on this earth below,

I imagine your arms holding me close.

Refrain:

Now you're gone, lost to this world.

Never to be seen,

but through the blades of grass, rustling in the wind;

the waves on the water, calling me in; the sun beating down,

the rain on the ground, the snow falling from the sky.

But you're gone.

Verse 3:

There once was a time when you always were here.

A smile to come home to; a loving whisper in my ear.

I took it all for granted, and look where that led!

Another lonely night in this cold empty bed.

Refrain:

Now you're gone, lost to this world.

Never to be seen,

but through the blades of grass, rustling in the wind;

the waves on the water, calling me in; the sun beating down,

the rain on the ground, the snow falling from the sky.

But you're gone.

Bridge:

You're gone, claimed by the clutches of merciful darkness.

I can never get you back.

Only through my dreams and pictures can I see you again.

But dreams are forgotten, pictures fade.

Memories corrode in the current of time.

A touch once so vivid...

Now nothin' more than...

a whisper of wind.

And now I would do anything to see you one last time!

Refrain:

Now you're gone, lost to this world.

Never to be seen,

but through the blades of grass, rustling in the wind;

the waves on the water, calling me in; the sun beating down,

the rain on the ground, the snow falling from the sky.

But you're gone.

...And now you're gone.

A/N Well... there you go. :) I write a lot of poems and my friends and family (SH Ships Sherlock on here) convinced me to try turning them into songs. This is sort of based off my poem "Gone." If you want, you should read that! (Self-promoting... sorry...)

Anyway, this was my first song I ever wrote and was originally recorded on my phone, so I had to listen and type it down. Productive criticism is much appreciated!

I hope you like it!
