"What is this?" Existence asked. "This power... I've never felt a force so powerful."

Become consumed by darkness... the voice said. Become one with me!

"I'm going to rip you open and drink the blood out of your poor, sorry corpse!" I shouted, as my skin grew even more darker, and my hair began to stand on end.

"Ah, I get it now." Existence said. "You're being swallowed by darkness out of rage... A tad cliché, don't you think?"

Instead of responding, I ran at the hooded man, using speeds that were unrivaled, and I planted my head directly in the lower area between his two lungs, causing him to cough (with my head in his chest, this was just a guess, because he could have also been vomiting, or something of the sort).

"How about you cut the shit?" I asked. "I want you to put up an actual fight!"

"Is that so?" Existence asked, grabbing my head, and pulling it away from his chest. His strength amazed me. "Well your wish is my command!"

He threw me back-first into the ground, which cracked and caved in a little from the impact.

I rolled over, and pushed myself off the ground, in a way that lifted me into the air, and made me do a backflip. "Now we're talking!" I shouted, planting a foot on the back of his hood.

Why am I fighting him? I wondered. Who's doing this!?

Let me envelop your body, your soul... the voice said, as he made me plant my other foot in Existence's mouth. Plunge your world into darkness.

Existence bit down on my shoe, which hurt like a bitch, so I instinctively pulled it out. "You're fighting makes me want to wretch!" I screamed.

"You won't beat me using the power of darkness to further your powers." Existence said, before he warped, instantly placing his front three fingers in the back of my head as he did so. "You're outmatched, kid. Give it up!"

I tried to turn to face him, but my body wouldn't move. It also seemed as if my head was beginning to clear up.

"That was a pressure point." Existence said, shaking the hand he struck me with as he walked in front of me. "Even in the Dreamworld, everyone has a few."

I struggled to move, but I could only twitch my fingers.

"If I had struck it any harder, you most cerntainly would not be standing, or even breathing." Existence said. "Of course, I want to keep you and your sister alive for the time being. My son and I will finish you when the time comes."

I sturggled with all of my will to break free from the blow to the neck, but it was no use. I was rooted to the spot.

"I notice your struggle." Existence said. "Don't bother. You won't be moving anywhere for a while."

Despite his suggestion, I continued my attempts at moving my body, but to no avail.

"Such stubborness." Existence said, as he brought his fist back. "As much as a useful pawn you would have played, I'm afraid your days in the Dreamworld end here, for good this time."

I closed my eyes as much as I could, trying to block the sight of my own demise, but I stopped, for more than just the pressure point acting up.

"See what I mean, Jere?" Mac asked, holding tightly onto Existence's wrist. "The boy's got nothing but raw power. He lacks proper control of it."

"I know, I know." Jere said, as he walked out from behind Mac. "But the boy's 3 months out of practice, give him a break."

"Hmm..." Existence hummed. "The former Nightmare who bested my son, as well as the trainer of the girl who bested the Nightmare King's daughter. This situation just became much more problematic."

"Maybe if you leave the boy alone, we won't have to do anything rash." Jere said, as he made his hand look like he was holding a ball, and in between his fingers began to glow. "Unless that's what you want."

Existence sighed, as he shook his head, sighing, as he ripped him hand free from Mac, and turned away. "Fine. You can have the Sleeper boy." he said. "We shall purge these two worlds in a week, so only the Mystics shall live on. We can afford one boy survivng until then, especially one as weak as him."

My eyes shot open wider. "What was that?"

"Mac, knock him out." Jere said. "I'd prefer if we didn't have to deal with someone like him."

"I'LL KILL YOU!" I shouted, lunging at Existence. The last thing I remembered was being hit in the neck with a fairly large hand.

"... so, if it's alright with you, I say it's best not to talk to him about it."

"But Sarah..." Liz said.

"Don't but me on this." Sarah said. "The last thing he wants is for you to be upset with him, or especially scared of him."

Before anyone else could complain, I moaned.

"Seems as if he's awake." Sarah said. "Maybe I should leave you two alone. Family reasons."

With that, I sat up just as she walked out the door. "Best not to talk to me about what?"

"Oh, nothing." Liz said, very loudly.

I looked at her closely. "You're hiding something."

"Oh come on, what could I possibly have to hide?" Liz asked.

I thought about it. "Is it about you and Rift?"

She paused for a moment. "Yes," she finally said. "that's what this is about."

"Don't worry about it, Liz, I like Rift." I lied, not actually trusting him after what I just heard. But I didn't want Liz hating me. "Although I might possibly prefer it if you date guys who haven't tried to kill me."

"Dully noted." Liz said, as she pointed at my upper chest. "What's that?"

I looked down and saw that she was pointing at the Bifrost pendant mark. "I don't actually know." I lied. "Some mark left by some pendant."

"A pendant?" Liz asked. "Since when did you start wearing that kind of stuff?"

"I'm in this hospital a lot." I said, dodging the question.

"Yeah, you really are." Liz said, giggling. "So, what's been going on with you? You've been away for a while."

"Oh, your know." I said. "Missions in Nightmare bases. Nothing new."

"So have you found anything useful about anything?" Liz asked.

"No, not yet." I said, as I felt my chest pinch itself. "Although I think I may need to do one more."

"Oh, are you sure?" Liz asked. "Because I can go with you this time if you want."

"No, it's really alright." I said, sitting up, as I noticed the large bandage across my bare chest, right over my purple mark. "You weren't here when they put this on, were you?"

"No, why?" Liz asked.

"No reason." I said, climbing out of bed. "Just curious."

"Where are you going?" Liz asked. "You passed out 5 times since I last saw you!"

"That's what I want to find out about." I said, walking out the door. "I won't be gone long."

"Except you will be gone long, Dylan." Liz said. "You always are. Let me come with you."

I stopped in the middle of the door, and paused before turning around. "Are you absolutely sure? There's going to be things there you won't want to see."

"You said similar things before bringing me to Dreamworld." Liz said, smiling. "I'll be fine, don't worry."

I sighed, moving my hand towards her, and waved in my direction with my fingers. "Hurry up before I change my mind."

Liz's smile grew wider, as she ran towards me, and gave me a large hug. "Thank you."

I smiled back at the top of her head. "Come on, we should go tell Sarah that we'll be away."

"Wait, what? " Liz asked, poking her head out of the hug. "Does she not know about this? I thought she was the one who planned them."

"Well, she greenlights them," I said, as we started walking. "but I'm the planner."

"So where are we going now?" Liz asked.

"Geneic's fortress." I said.

Liz looked dumbfounded. "Who's that?"

"Well remember when Denise said that her dad was the Nightmare king?" I asked. "That would be him."

"What!?" Liz exclaimed, stopping dead in her tracks. "Are you trying to get yourself killed!?"

"No, I'm trying to get answers." I said simply.

"I don't care what your reasons are!" Liz shouted. "I don't want to risk thinking that I lost you again!"

"You're not going to lose me." I said, not stopping. "Come on, let's keep going."

"No! I don't want Generic corrupting you any further!" Liz screamed, stopping me dead in my tracks.

I turned to face her, her eyes full of tears. "Again?"

"I wasn't..." Liz started. "completely honest when I said I didn't see your chest."

I looked down at my chest, where the bandage was. It was tainted black.

"Has Jere told you about Excalibur yet?" Liz asked.

"Isn't that King Arthur's sword?" I asked.

"No! I mean, maybe, but that's not the one I'm referring to."

"Well then what are you referring to?"

Liz sighed. "I'm referring to the sword of the Nightmare king."

I stared straight at her. "Who told you that?"

"Jere did." Liz said. "During the whole situation with Denise, after you told me to run with him and Rift."

"Oh yeah." I said. "So what can he do with it?"

Liz sighed. "If I'm remembering properly, it can corrupt the blood of an individual, expelling the good nature from their heart and turning them into a Night, or even a Nightmare is possible."

"So my little condition is a result..." I started. "of him."

I walked off, going towards my little hutt, but then I stopped shortly, to say "By the way, I'm not actually a fan of Rift. I would prefer if you stopped seeing him."

"Why are you bringing that up!?" Liz asked.

"Just before I forget." I said, before I kept walking. "I'm going to go wake up now."

Ever since that day, things were growing better. I mean, sure, my grades didn't rise a lot given the fact that Winter Break came by 4 days later, but nevertheless, things were improving.

That is, until the day before winter, the eve of my birthday. I haven't once taken my pendant off, I just hid it under my shirt while at school. Nobody seemed to notice, or just nobody cared. Liz was mad at me for what I said about Rift, because I never gave an explanation. But what was I supposed to say? That his dad said that he was just using her?

Okay, yeah, I could have said that. But it's not like she would have taken the time to listen. She was pissed, and she didn't want to hear any of it.

At least she could control her anger better than me.

As for Dreamworld activity, there hardly was any. Sure, there was the occasional Night attack, but that's the extent of that.

With nothing to do, I grabbed my cell phone and texted Denise.

"Hey, wanna hang out?" I sent.

"What's your reason?" she replied.

"Why do you think I have a reason?" I asked.

"You ALWAYS have a reason" she replied, then in a separate message, she added "Last time we hung out was when you were having Dreamworld issues. Elizabeth keeps in better touch with me than you, and she's 3 years younger than me"

"Ok, that is NOT true"

"Really? When were you planning on telling me about the corrupted blood?" she asked.

"When I got the whole thing fixed up" I texted back. "Why did she even tell you in the first place?"

"Because she worries about you, Dylan" Denise texted me back. "I do too, I've been in the situation myself"

"Are you able to hang out or not?"

"That's kind of a dick thing to say to someone showing sympathy" Denise said. "I think I'll just stay right here"

"Fine, I'm sorry. Go ahead and stay there if you want" I texted back. "Although I don't want people feeling sorry for me. That's why I kept it to myself"

"Alright, fine" Denise said. "In truth, I'm kind of busy. Some other time?"

"Sounds good"

"Alright. C'ya 3"

"C'ya" I texted back before turning my phone screen off.

With nothing else to do, I decided to just sit on the couch and watch some videos on YouTube, using my tablet. Before I found a decent video, however, I heard a noise.

"This is the little Sleeper boy's house."

Sleeper boy? I've only heard that term once in my life. I kept listening.

"I want you to save this house for last. Start in the large cities, there should be one within an average human's driving distance west of here."

Start in the large cities? Save this house for last? What did he mean?

I leapt off the couch and peered out the window. Outside, I saw Existence and Rift. They all wore the same white robes as usual.

"I'll handle the city, father." Rift said.

"Thank you." Existence said. "Now, the rest of the troops will be at some nearby park soon. I'm going to go see them."

With that, they all walked off.

"God damnit, why is it now when I'm the only one who can be depended on?" I asked, pulling out my phone, and dialing Denise's number. "Pick up pick up pick up!"

"Hello?" I heard Denise answer. "I told you I was busy, what do you want?"

"Oh thank god!" I responded. "Listen, I need you to come over here. Right. Now."

Denise sighed. "What's going on that's so important?"

"Well some people showed up from the Dreamworld, and they're planning on doing things that I don't think are particularly good things." I said. "One of them was sent to I think Vancouver, and the other went to the park that I believe is next to Liz's school from last year."

"The one you practically destroyed?"

"To be fair, you started it." I sighed. "Well are you able to come or not?"

"Look, even if I could come, what use would I be?" Denise asked. "I'm not getting any power from my body in the Dreamworld, so I can't fight as well as I could before."

"I guess, but I mean, you could boost morale." I said.

"Like you need a morale boost." Denise giggled. "You'll do fine. See you when you get back, okay?"

I paused, before answering. "Promise."

I then hung up the phone, and went to the door.

"Wait." I heard someone say. I turned around, and I saw Liz behind me. "You're going after them, right?"

"Yeah." I said. "I thought since Rift was with them, it would be hard for you, so I didn't mention it."

"It's not going to be hard on me." Liz said. "On the contrary. I want to be the one to go to Vancouver. You should stop Existence."

"Are you sure?" I asked.

"Yeah." Liz said. "I'm going to talk some sense in to him."

I opened my mouth to tell her how much of a stupid choice that was, but then I realized something.

Our whole life was about stupid choices now.

"Alright." I said. "I'll go to the park to face Existence. You talk some sense in to your boyfriend."

The last word made her blush, as I held the door open for her.

With the information we had, the two of us set off for our destinations. Bit by bit, however, I felt more strength than I ever have before in the real world, while she looked exhausted to just carry herself a few feet off the ground.

"You sure you're up to this?" I asked.

"Yeah, I'm... I'm fine." she said, breathing heavily.

I sighed, and motioned for her to come over. When she was in arms reach, I placed my hand on her head, pouring my power into her. She stepped back, amazed. "How did you-?"

"No idea, but get going." I said. "We don't know how long you have until they begin whatever they're doing."

Liz nodded, flying off with much less struggle than before, as well as with much more speed.

I, too, took off for my destination, the park. I ran through streets, alleys, backyards, roofs, whatever it took to get from point A to point B as fast as possible.

I slowed down upon entering the park, as I noticed that it seemed much darker than usual. It was almost as if someone put a black roof over the whole thing.

"Ah, Dylan. So glad you could make it." I heard a voice say. "So glad you could make it."

I turned to see who was talking, but nobody was there.

"I hope you're enjoying my ability. I like to call it 'Illusionary Fabrication'."

I grunted, as he appeared out of nowhere. I recognized him from the long, white robe.

I sighed. "Why are you here, Existence?"

"Oh, it's very simple." Existence said. "Before the purge begins... I want my pendant back!"

I growled, and stretched my arm through him, in the middle of which he disappeared.

"My ability is too strong for you, face it!" Existence shouted, as a deep, black fog covered the area.

I smirked, as I bent backwards, avoiding a hand aimed straight for my head.

"Lucky guess!" Existence shouted, as he aimed for my feet, in which I jumped and spun in midair. This exchange went on for a long time.

"Why can't I hit you!?" Existence asked, which caused me to worry. He didn't sound out of breath at all, meanwhile I was sweating bullets. "Why do you not stay still!?"

"Why do you keep attacking me?" I asked. "I might stay still if you stop with your hands!"

"I've had enough!" Existence shouted, as he successfully jabbed me, hitting me directly in the chest and sending me into a tree. "I'm not all fun and games anymore. Either you give me that pendant, or I'll have to take it along with the head atop it!"

He reached around my neck with large, monster-like claws. His hands weren't like that before. I noticed this, as he turned me upside down, and shoved me into the ground, knocking me out.

I awoke in an empty space. The ground I was on was like the kind of thing you would see in the matrix, except it was more ancient script than 1s and 0s, and it was a sky blue as opposed to green. The sky looked normal, clouds and a sun in a very bright blue background.

"Hey, you." someone said. He sounded familiar, but I just couldn't put my finger on it. I turned to face him, and the answer surprised me.

"Are you... Me?" I asked. "How hard did I hit my head?"

"Relax, relax. Okay?" the other me said. "I'm just your Dreamworld self."

"My Dreamworld self?" I asked. "So what, the Dreamworld's like Chaotic now?"

"Well, not exactly." dream me said. "See, I'm both you and not you. I'm the one who stays behind when you go through worlds, to make sure your body doesn't stop functioning or disappear."

"Oh, so you're like my spirit?" I asked.

"Yeah, that sounds about right." the spirit said. "Call me Dragon."

"Okay then." I said. "So, Dragon, where is this place?"

"This? Oh, that's simple." Dragon said. "It's called the Bifrost."

"Oh... Really?" I asked. "I figured the Bifrost would be more... Well, like a rainbow. Because rainbow bridge and all that."

"The color of the Bifrost represents the nature of those who owns it. This is your personal Bifrost." Dragon said. "It's blue because, while you sometimes struggle to do the right thing, you always seem to find your way to make things right in the end."

"'Always' is debatable." I said. "So, what is the importance of the Bifrost?"

"Well, you see, from here, you can access the true power of the Bifrost pendant."

"True power?" I asked. "What false power have I been using?"

"Well, I'm sure you've noticed that your strength was much greater than normal, which is because of a much stronger connection to your Dreamworld body." Dragon said. "However, the connection can become even greater than it already is."

Dragon looked me deep in the eyes, as if he was starting into my soul. "Bifrost Combination."

Hey guys, been a while, this took so long, but... Well Christmas and birthdays and stuff.

Anyways, hope you enjoyed the chapter, didn't rush things like last time. Leave a review telling me how you liked it, or how it can be improved. Ciao!
