Hey there guys! I'm coming at you with another chapter, and this one is a bit longer than the other so I hope you enjoy!

Alex

"A hollow scream echoed through the night as a maiden cowered in fear, slick scarlet liquid dripping. Above her rose the wicked beast of the night. Its heavy breath rancid, teeth like blades... its thick fur the darkest black, and its eyes like glowing orbs of emptiness. Crimson pooled from its slack jaws before it lunged-"

"Andea! Andea, I told you, I need you to go to the store!"

I had been staying at my friends house for 2 days and all I've mostly been doing was running errands for her.

A sigh escaped my lips as I placed down the book I had been reading for the past hour. It was a book about a killer werewolf, and it was quite interesting, really. It was one of the many books that I brought with me about supernatural creatures, each book different than the other. My friends had told me not to be so interested in such beings, possibly because of the wolves that roamed the forest that surrounded the small town, the demon that had just popped up out of nowhere last month, and this Icy wizard that also popped up last month.

Rumors had spreaded of every supernatural thing that had happened in this town. But of course, many refused to believe them, even if it did create fear. Because of that fear, it was the same reason why wolf hunting had now been permitted, and that caused my blood to boil.

"ANDEA!"

"I'm going!" I screamed in reply to my friend, eye twitching in annoyance as I slipped a jacket over my small body, heading out into the bouts of the night to shop.

Night was a deadly thing in our town. It was possibly because our little isolated town was surrounded by a forest, and this caused many things to sneak in...But I wasn't scared. I idly walked down the block and towards the store. Though the town was smaller than other towns, it was a good 20 minute walk, possibly because of how each thing was so spread out do to how much space we all had.

After about 35 minutes, I had picked up the groceries my friend had asked for and had soon began your way back home. It was when the lone whimper of something caught your ears.

"Take that you stupid wolf!"

"Yeah, that'll teach you to come into our town!"

"Here, throw this at it!"

Curiosity taking sense of your better judgement, I rounded the corner, only to see two teenage males, both seemed a bit younger than me, possibly both a bit drunk, kicking and throwing bottles at...a wolf?! But that was certainly no wolf I had ever seen before.

His fur was white, having thin black markings on his face. And his eyes...they were beautiful. One red and the other blue. But I felt a sharp ping of rage at the sight of the two boys messing with the poor thing. Most notably though...he wasn't attempting to fight back. His teeth bared every so often, and he twisted and turned, trying to escape his attackers, but he made no attempt to bite them. And it was weird...because that was one, big wolf.

"Hey! Cut it out!" I yelled as I raced towards them. Probably not the smartest thing to do...but who cared? The two guys stopped to glare at me, eyes narrowed.

"Tch, its just a chick. Go bug someone else. We're trying to deal with business here. It's not like you can stop us." one of them said. I bit my lip. He was right. The law had allowed wolves to be hunted all the time now...but still...My gaze fell onto the half broken bottle in one of the males hands.

"Hmmm...Assuming from that bottle. You were drinking, right? And since you're probably younger than me, I'm pretty sure you're not old enough yet, right? Now...I feel like I'm in a very snitch-like mood today, especially since you were so rude and all..." I smirked ,flipped out my phone, and their eyes widened.

"You wouldn't do that!" The other peeped, and I only smirked.

"Would I?" I challenged before pausing, "if you leave this wolf alone, it'll be our little secret." the two boys paused and looked at each other before they both scrammed. I nearly laughed, but my attention fell onto the wolf.

Going on over to him, I saw him give a soft whimper, cringing away from me. "It's okay...I'm here to help...Your quite a beautiful wolf, aren't you?" I could've sworn I saw his tail wag the slightest bit. Did...did he understand me? My gaze turned to the different bruises and injuries it had. "Hold on...we're by the store, I'll be back in a jiffy."

Racing to the store was a challenge… I never was a runner, and this was no different. But just as I promised, I had returned with a few more medical supplies, as well as a raw steak I had bought from my friends money. Yeah...she wasn't going to be too happy about that, but that was the last thing on my mind right now. Bending down, I began to treat the wolf while he ate the steak I had given him.

It took a bit of time, but soon, I had finished. "And...there, we go! You're all good to go!" The wolf, whom had been watching me for quite some while, only blinked. Then, he did something surprising. He nuzzled my neck and gave me a lick on the cheek, almost like an affectionate dog before getting up and trotting down the street. I wanted to follow, to make sure he'd be okay, but I only shook your head.

Before I left, I wanted to know which wolf he was, so I wanted to name him. The only name that came to mind was, "Alex". That's a good name right? I took out a piece of duct tape and wrote the name, "Alex" on it. I attached it to his chest, rubbed his head, and left.
