The Fire

Flames leap toward the sky,

As smoke fills the air.

And their loved ones die,

Smelling their burning hair.

...

The darkness is shattered,

The cold pushed away.

All that once mattered,

Burnt to dust in a day.

...

Choking now on the air

That should give them life,

They no longer care -

They don't try to survive.

...

Cold rain falls on them now.

But this relief came

Too late, for them all

To be saved from the fire.
