Show Me.

Bored, Mira Violeta was bored, Day in and day out nothing but boredom. Mira sat, her crystalline blue eyes trained up at the clock from across the shop, watching the seconds tick by at a painfully slow rate. She sighed, going back to the book on the counter. Why did she agree to work at her father's art shop? She could've had a summer all to herself, but no, her father insisted for her to get a job.

"At least the day is almost over." Mira muttered to herself eyeing the clock again.

The familiar jingle brought Mira from her thoughts as a boy walked in, curiously looking around at his surroundings. "Hello" Mira greeted hoping to meet the unfamiliar boy. The boy looked in in her direction but quickly looked away when he met her gaze. The boy waved sheepishly before retreating to one of the few aisles in the small shop.

'He's a shy one isn't he?' Mira thought to herself as she watched him examine one of the shelves. Pushing some loose strands of brown hair from her eyes, she returned to her book. 'This is the only freedom I'll have this summer.' Mira thought darkly.

The sound of falling objects on the wooden floor interrupted her reading once again. The brunette looked up to see the boy scrambling to pick up pencils and other fallen objects. Mira heard the boy mutter to himself in a seemingly self-scolding tone.

Closing her book, Mira walked from behind the counter and over to the boy. Pulling up the sleeves of her red shirt the brown-haired girl bent down to help clean up. The boy gave a quiet gasp as he realized she was there and muttered a quiet thanks.

"So," Mira started, "Are you new in town?" She never has seen the boy before and as Mira can recall no one as shy either.

"Um, yeah." the boy replied, not making eye contact. Mira held out a hand. "Name is Mira Violeta, nice to meet you." The brunette introduced. "Robin Chanson." The boy said reaching out to take her hand, still not making eye contact, this irritated Mira.

"You know, people usually look each other in the eyes when talking." Mira stated with a hint of irritation in her voice.

Robin seemed to have caught onto the irate tone because he looked up immediately, his doe-like brown eyes meeting her own blue ones. "S-Sorry." Robin stammered, keeping eye contact this time.

"That's better." Mira said as she smiled at him. Robin looked away, red staining his pale cheeks. "Do you need any help finding anything?" Mira asked getting up and brushing off the front of her pants with Robin quickly following suit. "Yes." Robin answered while nodding sending strands of black hair bouncing about." Sketchbooks." He finished." Right over here." Mira said, leading him to a separate aisle.

The raven-haired boy's eyes lit up at the sight of his desired item, a light smile on his lips." So I take it you're an artist?" Mira laughed as she watched him examine each of the sketch books carefully." Yep." Robin replied, giving her a quick glance before going to back to the sketch books.

"What kind of stuff can you draw?" The brunette asked excitedly, hoping to get to know an artist who wasn't like the snooty old ladies who shopped there often." Stuff like plants, animals, and sometimes people." Robin replied, scratching the back of his head sheepishly.

"Show me." Mira demanded with a huge grin on her face." W-What?" Robin stuttered, caught off guard by her sudden demand." You said you're an artist, show me." Mira repeated, seating herself on the old wooden floor and patting the spot next to her.

"Um, okay." Robin said nervously as he grabbed a pencil and a sketch book from the shelf, and sat awkwardly next to her, making sure to keep his distance. Mira quickly shortened the distance by shuffling closer to him to get a better view. The brown-haired girl heard Robin's breath hitch as their shoulders touched.

"What should I draw?" The shy boy thought out loud, looking around the afternoon sunlit store for inspiration. "What do you draw best?" Mira questioned, looking at him. Robin hummed an 'I don't know' before turning his head to look at her. Seeing how close their faces were both of them quickly turned away from each other, faces red with embarrassment.

Mira only looked back when she heard the sound of pencil on paper." What are you drawing?" Mira questioned, leaning over to see." You'll see." Robin answered vaguely, smiling a bit. The girl huffed at the boy's answer, Mira wasn't known for her patience. Watching Robin, Mira found herself becoming mesmerized by his smooth pencil strokes; the way the pencil glided across the paper reminded her of a small quiet stream.

Mira looked around the small shop, waiting for the boy to finish. She couldn't help but chuckle, When Robin first walked in he was too scared to look her in the eye, but now here they were; him drawing for her." Finished." Robin announced after a while, pulling Mira from her thoughts. The boy held up the drawing for her to examine. The shopkeeper gasped loudly at seeing the picture, it was a picture of Mira herself.

"Whoa, that's amazing!" Mira exclaimed, unconsciously bringing up a hand to her face." You like it?" Robin asked hopefully." Yeah, how could I not like it?" Mira gushed. She took the drawing out of his hand, to examine it closely. Mira was amazed, throughout her summer working there; Mira has never seen anything this amazing. The shopkeeper blushed slightly, noting his attention to detail.

"You can have it if you want." Robin offered, his voice startling her. "Really?" Mira asked, surprised at his generosity." Mhmm." The boy hummed, with a small smile. Clutching the parchment to her chest, Mira thanked him with a sweet smile. The black-haired boy looked down, as crimson stained his face.

Rising from the ground, Mira glanced at the clock. "And just in time too." She said aloud, walking to the register. "In time for what?" Robin asked, quickly following suit. "It's time to close" The girl answered, ringing up his purchase.

"So…" Mira started, walking the boy to the door. "Yes?" Robin asked, tilting his head in confusion while following her." Are you coming back tomorrow?" The shopkeeper asked once they were outside.

"Sure, I guess." The boy answered, turning to look at her. "You seem nice."

"Promise?" Mira asked, looking up at him and toying with her shirt sleeve." Promise." Robin confirmed, giving her a wide smile

Mira gave him a sly smile, "Show me."

"What?" The boy questioned, perplexed.

"Show me that you can keep a girl a promise and bring your butt back here tomorrow." The girl demanded, while giggling. "O-Okay." Robin stammered, blushing wildly.

"See ya tomorrow, Robin." Mira said sweetly, walking back into the shop leaving him to wonder what the heck just happened.

'Maybe this summer won't be so bad after all.' Mira thought wistfully.

AN: What did you think? Not bad for my first story I'll say. Constructive criticism is very much welcomed.
