Standing tall on No Man's Land

I stand here tall and strong

Their protector in this war so long

I remain in this spot from dusk to dawn

I watch as the enemy troops are withdrawn

My menacing smile and blood covered figure

Makes them tremble as they cannot pull the trigger

No bullet can harm me

And I can stop them hurting thee

I pierce and I block any approaching enemy

They cut and they hack so desperately

Those soldiers can try to destroy us

But attacking our defense is treacherous

However my protection can be threatened

When they cut through me, I am condemned

I know I can only be here for so long

But I know that I am strong.

As I am barbed wire
