We were a kaleidoscope
of bright, burning rainbows.
Magenta love and crimson kiss,
sunrise staining tangled limbs.

We woke to shades of amber glow
every moment tinged with rose.
Held onto those golden rays,
until dusky tones began to fade.

These oceans between us
hues of icy blue
you drifted too far for me
to catch up to.

Sepia saturation, we are
colored with rust.
I watched iridescence
turn to dust.

Darling, tell me, can you see?
Now we're painted bittersweet.
