Blue and red, obtrusive shriek. Fading, ever distant.
A screeching rage, quiet in the night
Seething amongst weeds and concrete slabs.
The screams of a generation,
Spent, voiceless, without form.
Emotions quelled by rhetoric
And apathy nestling in place of tears.
Palatable lies obscure hideous truth.
Hateful constants forever festering beneath.
Broken glass and broken promises.
Fresh crimson paints a picture.
Numb the pain with small kindnesses.
Wake up and start again.
