Fairy lights gleam atop golden curls

Shimmering hither, to and fro

Gently, gently round fingers greenery furls

Ringlets tied in red velvet bow.

She dreams of places never been

Laughter chiming soft and low

Fairies dancing across the glen

Shimmering hither, to and fro

Erst she awakens they'll be gone

Woodland absent of signs to show.

Springs blossoms lay 'neath the snow

Youths blush faded to ancient gray

Dimming ere what once was known.

Mind wandering haunts it used to play.

Fairy lights gleam and glow

Hidden, to places children know.
