Today, I am going to talk about the Holy Spirit a little bit.

Maybe you're thinking of the Holy Spirit as a 'force' that makes you fall back during Church service. Maybe you think that the Holy Spirit is a force that comes down during the church service, moving people to do strange things.

Yet, the Scriptures teach a very different Holy Spirit. He's a Holy Spirit of teaching, a Comforter, and a Guide for you. He's there to bring you solace during complete disaster.

"But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you." (John 14:26)

The Holy Spirit is not a force at all. He's a Person. You are to 'grieve not the Holy Spirit.' (Ephesians 4:30) How could you grieve a mere force?

Here is a litmus test of sorts, to see if the 'Holy Spirit' you experience is actually the Holy Spirit.

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance; against such there is no law." (Galatians 5:22-23)

Being 'drunk in the Holy Spirit' violates these rules. Also being 'slain in the Spirit,' having 'manifestations in the Holy Spirit,' and all the other sorts of phenomena are unbiblical and dangerous to your spiritual health.

As a fair warning, such phenomena align pretty squarely with Hindu rituals, like the 'Kundalini Awakening,' which you should never even get close to. It is grave danger. Why the churches have implemented these practices, God only knows.

If you are a Christian that goes from experience to experience, STOP RIGHT NOW. You are only grieving the Spirit that is inside of you. He's already inside of you, trying to help you. Yet you grieve Him by doing dangerous activities 'in the Spirit.'

Pray to God for guidance and discernment. Pray to God for wisdom and knowledge in His word, so you may be able to see the good and the evil for what they are. Pray to Him that you can worship Him in a better fashion. Don't worship Him in your way, but worship Him in His way.

God bless you.
