Electra001: Aww thanks for following me~
FireGurlie1213: Ty for following my story :)
She recruits help from Tyler, now that they didn't have any feelings for each other aside from friendship, to make Wade jealous. Tyler was more than happy to do so, wanting to see his usually unflappable friend disconcerted.
She needed to know if Wade really wanted her in a romantic way.
As plans went, it was pretty simple: jealousy and proximity.
Where Wade was she and Tyler were. When Wade had Jessica still draped over his arm by the sofa, she sat right next to Tyler, legs unnaturally close, talking whispering and giggling. When Wade was near the table of food, she perches herself near the window right beside the table, with Tyler leaning against the wall, one-armed.
She thinks he catches him looking over at them a few times but everytime she looks over at him, he's looking away from her, so she's not sure.
This continues until she finally catches his eye. He gets up from his seat on the sofa and stalks towards her, stomping the few steps it takes for him to reach her.
He doesn't look amused even as she pushes herself off Tyler's lap.
Tyler is clearly amused when one of Wade's hand circle her wrists and the other snakes around her waist, yanking her upright and away.
She doesn't say a thing and lets him tug her firmly but gently out of the room.
"What are you doing?" He closes and locks the door behind him, muffling the loud noise and music from outside.
She tries to act as if she didn't understand, so he'd be more precise. His clenched jaw tells her he knows what she's doing, so she explains. "We were bonding." She shrugs a little. "I haven't spoken to him much since the party last time, so I thought it'd be a good idea to catch up."
"You thought it'd be a good idea?" He all but growls, "Why? Are you still not over him after Missy's big meltdown last time? Is that a good idea to stick so close to him?"
"Everyone else was busy." She snorts. "Plus, it's not like you had time for me with Jessica hanging off your arm the entire night."
He flinches a bit as her comment stings him right where she wanted it. Then it's as if he suddenly figured out the solution to world peace, he brightens up. "You're jealous."
"I'm not, I was just-"
He cuts her off by quickly pressing his lips against hers. She forgets why she was even trying to stay mad at him for when one of his arm wraps around her waist and his other tangled into her hair. She returns the kiss as he slips his tongue into her mouth, whatever they were fighting about forgotten.
She pulls away, panting from the kiss.
He rests his forehead against hers, chest heaving. "You were jealous weren't you?"
"Just like you were." She shoots back easily.
He chuckles and pulls her flush against him and she melts against him, knees weak from the kiss. "You're over him right?"
It doesn't need to be spelled out.
She laughs and laughs.
Who knew she'd end up falling for Wade?
Said guy stood in front of her, the confusion etched on his face slowly turning into a small fond smile. "Even though you're short, messy, awkward, shy and in love with my best friend, I still like you."
She laughs again because she's never spared Tyler a second glance once she knew he was the one she liked.
So she tells him that.
He pulls her into another kiss immediately after that.
"So wanna be my girlfriend?" The childish grin on his face almost as if confident of her agreeing to it.
She nods, ignoring his cockiness just for the while.
They spend the rest of the night talking.
And just like that, they're together.
Maybe, and just maybe, they'd say their I do's later in the years.
