Chapter 5

It would have been easy to fall asleep right there on the couch - but not necessarily comfortable. The particular piece of furniture was used when Sage bought it, now even more beat up and overused with shot springs and flattened cushions. And it wasn't all that wide or long so it seemed natural for Sage to suggest to Malissa that they retire upstairs. It had been a long and emotional day for the both of them.

Malissa agreed and she walked with him to the stairs where he retrieved her overnight bag to bring with them.

"Do you remember that day at my house?" Malissa asked, raising her eyebrows as she glanced up the stairs. "When you spazed out and managed to pants me in my bathing suit?"

"How could I forget?" He asked seriously. "Best day of my life!"

She punched him on the arm. "Here we are again," she noted. "About to walk the stairs again."

"I won't trip," he promised.

"It's okay if you do," she let him know.

"We were two virgins that day," he reminded her. "Riding bicycles, not driving cars."

"I know," she replied. "Still developing. Still finding ourselves. But even then, sexually attracted to one another."

"I wish I could have waited for you," he sighed. "But you moved away."

"I know," she said, nodding her head. "I didn't wait very long at all," she revealed. "I had a boyfriend within a few months after getting to Augusta. I lusted after a guy in the marching band, the bad boy on the drums. He was older. Rode a motorcycle. Had long blond hair and he oozed teenage sex. He took me to a high school party. Ended up down in some basement, his hands all claw-like down my blouse and his tongue down my throat like the serpent itself."

"I guess it was tough being in a new place," Sage reasoned, clutching the bannister to channel his emotions.

"It was easy to find love in those hormone-laden years but now I can't find a man I can listen to for more than five minutes," she complained. "Jerks talking about ex-wives and trust funds and stock options and malpractice insurance and wine collections. Like I give a fuck?"

Sage laughed nervously.

"The details of my teenaged years become hazy," Malissa confessed. "I know the sex wasn't very good - awkward and disappointing and I wasn't very happy. I figured it would get better later on, in college and nursing school. Guys with more experience and depth but it never really did. I thought the man I married was going to be my savior but he turned out to be my tormentor."

Sage was staring at her with his mouth hanging open, feeling bad that she hadn't been happier in her life.

"Coming back here reminds me of a simpler more innocent time," Malissa said. "No guy ever looked at me the way you looked at me that day in my bedroom when we got naked together for that enchanted magical moment."

"We had a chemistry we never knew we had," Sage admitted.

"Let's go upstairs," Malissa suggested.

And then she gave him a shove, hard enough that he stumbled and lost his balance, dropping the overnight bag as he struggled not to fall on his ass. Maissa pranced up a few steps but Sage saw that she was stripping out of her clothes – her blouse and bra going one way, her shoes kicked further than a NFL field goal place kicker, her slacks and panties down her legs, kicked almost into his face and Sage realized she was reenacting that day on the stairs in her house oh so long ago.

Malissa was naked now, standing half way up the stairs grinning at him and Sage wasted little time disrobing himself. Malissa turned and ran up the stairs laughing and Sage gladly pursued her, finding her standing in his bedroom waiting for him by the time he caught up to her.

Just like that day in her room, she reached out and touched his penis and he rubbed his finger between her legs, finding it moist and rubbery. Then they were embracing and kissing with passion and moaning as if they had been waiting for this moment for fifteen years, continuing where they left off that day as if no time had passed at all.

Malissa was happy to find herself cuddling against Sage when she awoke in the morning in his bed, in his room, in his life. She had experienced the best orgasms of her life during their lovemaking that lasted half way through the night and they both smelled of sex even now the next morning, her body sticky from perspiration and both their love juices. Sage had ejaculated more in one night than he had in the last year total, spilling himself inside her and on her and in her mouth as if they were the two teenagers who hadn't had a chance to be together back when it mattered.

It was good to know that the emotional connection never broke and that their physical attraction proved to be a wonderful payoff. Malissa saw that Sage was awake now too, looking at her with wonderment and amazement.

"Sometimes, fairy tales do come true," Sage told her, leaning in and kissing her good morning.
