WORDS

Everybody has heard the rhyme sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me right. We all grow up hearing that. But that rhyme is not true. Sure words don't physically hurt us, but they cause much more lasting damage. If someone hits you, the bruise is gone in about a week. They heal. The same is true for cuts and broken bones. Eventually, they all heal.

Words are different. They get into your head and build a nest. They stay with you thru ought the rest of your life. They shape the way you think and feel about yourself. They cause low self-esteem. They make people think that they are not good enough.

Injuries caused by words seldom heal, and if they do, they create scars.
