Well, it's almost the end of 2017. I didn't accomplish a lot of things, but I started (finally) some real quality writing. I have a few frets about the fiction, mostly that I think I have one character too passive, and another not as clearly motivated. I might have to add in some scenes to flesh things out in the earlier part of the story, but I should be able to still take the route I want for the last 25k-30k that will finish this story. I am tempted to (temporarily) skip over the scene, write the stuff after it, and come back to hinge it in when I can see its developments more clearly.
But that will be my goal for the first part of 2018: finish the first draft. After I have the first draft complete from beginning to end, I can set my sights on revisions and additions to improve the motivational depth. I think it would be nice to have a few more "free-spirited" sex scenes to show that the trio really did start firmly in "swinger play" before it began to occur to any of them that there was "something more" developing. I also think I might have to give Jess a car; she's a little too dependent on Elena and Eric, and it's making her react too "beholden" when their get-togethers should have been more about the freedom and the fun.
Well, that was a heck of a ramble. We'll see where it leads as the new year starts.
