Chapter 5

Leo awoke naked and happy. He smelled Willow before even opening his eyes, the bed enveloped in the scent of her perfume and their sweat and sex. He was clammy and sticky but contented and mellow.

He heard the flushing of the toilet and the running of water and then a naked Willow was darting across the room and jumping on top of him with a glorious laugh.

"Good morning!" She beamed.

"Thank God it wasn't a dream!" He smirked, giving her a kiss.

"Ew, morning breath!" She growled. "Go freshen up!"

Leo didn't care that he was naked as he left the bed and went into the bathroom, returning a few moments later with toothpaste breath and a relieved bladder to find Willow lying on her back on top of the covers, still naked, her legs and arms spread out like she was making a snow angel. He smiled as he climbed on top of her and gave her a fresh-breathed kiss.

"Can you believe we really did this?" She asked with raised eyebrows.

"Yes, he answered happily. "We knew exactly what we were doing because it's exactly what we wanted to do!"

"So, no regrets?" She asked, looking deep into his eyes.

"Of course not!" He vowed.

"Good," she said with relief in her voice. "Because I'm not sorry either!"

He kissed her while mashing his groin into hers.

"I'm supposed to be down stairs by 8:30," she sighed.

Leo glanced at the clock. It was only a few minutes after seven. "There's time," he assured her.

She giggled. "For what?" She asked, raising her eyebrows.

"Why are we acting like recruits again?" Leo grinned. "Horny young Sailors looking for a good time."

"I don't think either of us were ever quite like that," Willow said with seriousness in her voice.

"No," Leo agreed. "I was already engaged when I left for boot camp."

"And I met Alan in A School," Willow said. "He didn't want to make the Navy a career so he got out after one tour and followed me around until he had enough."

"But we've always had a connection, haven't we?" Leo wanted to know.

"Since the day we met," she agreed. "Had that been our first tour instead of third I might have left Alan to be with you."

"Really?" Leo asked with surprise.

"Yes," Willow verified. "This is our chance to live the alternative storyline, Leo."

He kissed her in gratitude and then they made love before she sprang for the shower, dragging him with her. Willow laughed with delight as she kissed him under the water spray.

"So, what happens now?" Leo wondered after they finished with the shower and he sat on the bed wrapped in a towel watching her dress for the conference downstairs. "Florida is definitely a galaxy far far away in our new alternative universe."

"I'm quitting my job," Willow announced. "I was crazy to think living out of a suitcase was the life for me."

"What are you going to do?"

"I'm moving to Hillsboro," she said boldly. "I'm ready to try something different. Settle down. Live a calmer life. I'll find a job at one of the colleges, I'm sure." She looked at him. "Is there room for me in your life?"

"Of course," he said.

"Is there room for me at your house?" She asked nervously as she took a seat next to him.

"Yes," he said quietly, squeezing her close. "I just can't believe any of this is really happening!"

"Aren't you glad you came to Boston?" She smiled as she kissed him.
