Part Thirty-One.

I nudged a sleeping Lucas with my foot. He rolled onto his other side and mumbled.

I crawled into the bed and pulled Lucas back against my chest. "Luke."

"Aiden, it's too early."

"You're always complaining to me about how I sleep too much. I wanted to prove you wrong."

"It's like six in the morning. That's an appropriate time to be sleeping."

"Both of our mom's are awake."

He groaned and buried his face in the pillow. "I hate you."

I kissed his neck. "I almost died, you know."

"You're the worst boyfriend ever."

"Come on, Lukey. I've really missed you."

"I can tell." He rolled over to face me. "You're wearing my hat."

"You gave it to me, remember?"

He narrowed his eyes. "I think you were all doped up on drugs and made this up."

"If you want it back, you're going to have to fight me for it."

"Get real, Aiden."

I laughed. "I am. You wouldn't win in a fight against me."

"Says who?"

"Peter Jacobs."

He sighed. "That kid was massive."

"Face the facts here. You aren't a fighter. You can do anything except fight people."

"You're a jerk in the mornings."

I kissed him. "That was the plan."

"What, to be a jerk?"

"To be so mean that you leave me alone because you're afraid I'll snap at you."

"Did you forget that I'm the one being woken up?"

"You have to lose some to win some."

He ran a finger over my nose before he kissed it lightly. "I definitely don't want to lose you."

"Well mom won't let me drive until my arm heals so I'll be fine for a few more weeks."

He smiled and rolled me onto my back. "Does my mom know you're here?"

He pulled the covers over both of us and kissed me, his hands pinning mine over my head.

"Hey, gentle. I'm still fragile."

He grunted, his lips still on mine.

I turned my head to the side, separating our lips. "I think your mom went to talk to my mom."

"I hope so."

I stared at Lucas as he went back to kissing me. He was gentle where it mattered and rough everywhere else. We knew what each other liked and didn't like when it came to sex. He knew that I mostly just liked him being with me. And he used it against me.

I couldn't believe how lucky I was to be with him. He was my best friend. My soul mate. The person I was meant to be with forever. I couldn't imagine myself with anyone else. I couldn't even picture myself as a straight kid.

Lucas smiled down at me and I knew he felt the same way. I knew everything would work out. They always did.
