Christian nervously walked with the group, his eyes on Bella's back the whole time. Nearing the driveway, he knew his time was slipping away. But why? There were many days in life, especially if you were a young teen of the age of 15 with a white terrier named Scott that was old and sleek, slipping more and more, following his years… but Chris couldn't think of that now. He had something to do, and he had to do it now. It wouldn't be easier in a day… or a week… or a month…

No, the boy told himself, I have to do it soon.

He was jerked out of this train of thought when he realized that they were practically at the front door, and that the patter of thoughts in his head were actually raindrops, falling from the sky around him.

Bella stopped and stooped low; she was tying her shoe. As Christian caught up with her, Edmond, Selene and her twin sister Eos, and Neal disappeared through the doorway.

Bella stood up- it was now or never- and paused when the pale boy's hand rested on her shoulder.

"What?"

That voice… that beautiful voice. The voice he always longed and, in a sense, dreaded to hear… the voice that pulled his soul and heart and brain towards her… the voice that drove him now, as he lightly held her arm and pulled her back around the corner of the house, outside the garage…

"Bella?"

"Yes, Chris?"

"I…"

But he couldn't continue. Why did his heart beat so, it's feeling taking control of him? Why was he holding her close, as he thought about her sweet hair? Why was he staring into her sharp blue eyes, savoring the shade of her honey-colored hair…

Before he could think clearly again, before he could tell her what he needed to, that her freckles were so pretty, and that she was cute, and that she was the cause of agony and beauty that he was feeling…

Bella kissed him.
