A/N: Ahhh, I'M BACK! It's been like FOREVER since I've uploaded and I'm so happy to be back! *squeals* You must be wondering what made me come back. Or not. Whatever, I'll just tell you. So my sister just recently started writing a novel and she had asked for my help. Back into the world of writing and fiction, I suddenly felt like I needed to get back to The Forbidden Room. And here I am! I don't think there's anything left to really say so, ENJOY!
"Kristy Simmers." Mr. Stokes voice boomed.
Crystal had just finished reading her, 'Ketchup Lover' paragraph and now it was Kristy's turn.
Kristy had totally forgotten about it and she hadn't found the time to tell Mr. Stokes that she didn't complete it just yet.
Kristy took a deep breath and stood up. "I-"
"Did you continue on the strange room idea?" Mr. Stokes interrupted with a smirk. He almost seemed to be making fun of her. Brett snorted.
"Yea, I did."
"We can't hear you, Kristy. Louder."
Kristy cleared her throat, "I did." she said, loud and clear.
"Very well then, why don't you come up and tell us a little bit about it."
"You see, I... I didn't finish it yet..."
Mr. Stokes frowned, "You what?"
"I didn't complete it just yet. I'm still working on it." Kristy sucked her stomach in, and hoped for the best.
"I gave you a whole week, Simmers. You couldn't have taken 1 out of 168 hours to work on it?" he said, very firmly.
"It's just... I... I... life has been hard, and complicated at the moment." she said, trying to sound very formal and truthful. Not that she wasn't, anyways. Life was indeed a very perplexing puzzle, with the Forbidden Room and all. She wished she could explain it to them all, but of course, no-one would believe her. If only Crystal would listen...
"Kristy, I am very disappointed in you." Mr. Stokes was saying. "This is a very important assignment, worth 15% of your English course."
"Don't interrupt me! We'll talk after class."
Kristy was not expecting this reaction from Mr. Stokes. This was the first time she had not finished an assignment by its due date, so why was he acting like she'd always done it? She could still present it to the class tomorrow, if that mattered. He just hates me. Kristy concluded. And I hate him too.
Kristy sat back down on her chair, heavily. All of a sudden, she wished she were back in the Forbidden Room, where life was easy and perfect. I hate it here, I hate everyone. Kristy found herself thinking, before she quickly stopped herself.
The quiet girl beside her suddenly leaned forward and passed her a note. "From Crystal." she whispered with a shy smile before quickly turning back to Mr. Stokes.
Kristy felt nervous and uneasy as she was unfolding the note. What did Crystal want? Inside was a short note, only a few words.
I'm sorry. Forgive me?
Kristy sighed a sigh of relief. Of course she would forgive her. There was no time to hold grudges anyways, right? She needed to tell her about the Forbidden Room as soon as possible.
Kristy caught Crystal's eyes and gave her a thumbs up sign. Crystal flashed her a typical 'Crystal smile' and turned back to the board. Not a 'Madison smile'.
Kristy smiled. Perfect. She couldn't wait until after school to tell Crystal everything. She was already imagining what she would say.
"I'm really sorry, Kristy." Crystal said as soon as they started their walk home from school. "I don't know what got into me."
"It's okay." Kristy said, "What happened to Madison?"
"She started saying some awful things about you, Kristy. So I couldn't take it anymore and told her to stop nicely. But then she didn't listen. She said I was an idiot for hanging out with you. Long story short, it's over now."
"Oh, wow." Kristy finally said, baffled.
"Yea, I'm sorry." Crystal looked at Kristy apologetically.
"No need to be. Now listen, you're not going to believe this!"
"What?" Crystal said, wildly.
Kristy laughed, "Guess!"
"Nooo, just tell me!" Crystal was already started to bounce up and down. Ahhh, she sure did miss her.
Kristy looked around, and lowered her voice to a whisper. "I went into the Forbidden Room!"
Crystal gasped and placed her hands over her mouth. She let out a squeal.
"No, but hey, don't tell anyone."
"Ok, now tell me, what happened? What did you see?"
"Not now," Kristy said with a smile. "At home. Come on, hurry!"
