Hello, readers and welcome to another new chapter of my story. I hope that you're all enjoying this so far.

Anyway, on with the chapter.

Warning: Long Chapter

Chapter 3: The Ultimate Challenge

It's been 1 week since the encounter with Kevin, and so far things have settled down. During the same week, we took the time to take it easy, mainly because of the injury that Kevin inflicted upon me.

It was a quiet Monday and Katie was bored. She was in the guest room lying on the bed while staring at the ceiling in silence. She looked at her cellphone and saw that it was almost noon. "*sigh* This is boring. I wonder what Hunter's doing?" Katie thought as she got up and walked out of the room.

She then walked through the hall towards the staircase that led her down the steps until she reached the bottom and walked through the living room. Afterwards, Katie went through the kitchen and walked towards the back door that was covered by blinds. She looked through them and saw me training in the backyard with a dummy.

My injury didn't fully heal yet, but it was treated enough for me to move around since I no longer felt any pain from it.

Katie watched as I continued punching the dummy with my fists as I went faster and faster until I finally threw a hard punch at the dummy, breaking it apart as it fell to the ground in pieces. I used my arm to wipe off a little sweat as I then proceeded to pick up the dummy's remains while walking off to throw them away.

Katie then took the time to think to herself. "Throughout my time on this planet, I never actually had the chance to know Hunter as a friend rather than an ally." She thought. After a few seconds, a small smile came to Katie's face, indicating that she had an idea.

At that moment, I came back to the yard just as Katie walked outside on the porch. "Hey, Hunter. You got a minute?" She asked.

"Sure, what's up?" I asked, giving her my attention.

"For the past three weeks, we never actually had the chance to get to know one another." Katie said.

"Uh-huh." I said as she continued. "So I thought that maybe we could at least hangout with each other as friends instead of working together as allies." Katie suggested.

Upon hearing the word hangout, I then frowned slightly as if something was bothering me.

Katie noticed this as she grew a concerned look on her face. "Is something wrong?" she asked.

I then looked at her before I answered. "Uh, no. There's nothing wrong."

"Are you sure?" Katie asked.

I didn't want to lie to her, so I decided to come clean. "No. I did something terrible."

"What did you do?" Katie asked.

I then took a deep breath before speaking. "3 years ago, I had four close friends that I hung out with from time to time. We were practically inseparable, like nothing could ever drive us apart. However, all of that changed one year later when I became so focused on my training that I ended up ditching my friends. Not only that, but I also stopped interacting with other people in favor of samurai training. My friends tried various ways to get me to hang out with them again, but I wouldn't listen. As a result, they gave up and severed all ties with me."

After finishing my story, Katie had a look of sorrow on her face. I'm really sorry that happened to you, Hunter." She said with sympathy.

"So am I. And I really wish that I didn't shut my friends out because of what I was doing." I said with a look of guilt and sorrow.

Katie then gave me a sad smile. "It's not all bad. At least you have a new friend ." she said, trying to me feel better.

Upon hearing what she just said, I then gave her a surprised look. "You see me as a friend?" I asked.

Katie nodded. "Yeah, I mean you've been helping me with my favor this whole time. Despite all the trouble we've been through, you still chose to help me regardless." she said.

I then thought back to the beginning of when I first met Katie and all the things we've done so far until I realized that she had a point. "Well, that is true. I chose to stay by your side because helping you and your family is the right thing to do." I said.

"And that's the reason why I see you as a friend." Katie said with a warm smile on her face.

I couldn't help but do the same thing. "Wow, so this is what it's like to have a true friend." I thought.

"Now about my suggestion from earlier. What do you say?" Katie asked.

"I say that I'm in." I answered.

Katie then smiled. "Great! So where should we go?"

I then thought for a moment before an idea came to my head. "How about we go to Kaplan Mall? It's the same place where we first met." I suggested.

"Not a bad idea. Let's go." Katie said.

With that, I closed the back door as we both walked off.

After walking through the streets, Katie and I arrived through the main entrance. Once inside, Katie stared at the scenery as we walked around.

The mall had two floors with large numbers of different stores that each had a sign on them saying what stores they were.

We then reached the center of the mall and saw that there was a large fountain with water coming out of it. There was also a large glass tower with an elevator inside, various people walking around, and more stores in the area. One part of the center had a large food court with various tables and chairs.

Katie then looked up and saw a giant glass dome covering the entire mall.

I then turned my head to face her. "Like what you see?" I asked.

Katie looked at me and nodded.

"Well, since we're here, how about we go to the arcade to play some games?" I suggested.

"Cool." Katie said as we walked off.

After a few minutes, we approached a large arcade center that had a sign that said "Game World". After going inside, Katie took the time to take a look around.

The whole center had different sets of arcade games such as racing games, dance games, crane games, shooting games, fighting games, air hockey and more. The carpet floor was light purple with different colors that were shaped like video game controllers.

"This place looks awesome!" Katie said with a smile.

"I know, right?" I said as we came over to a token machine.

I then took some money out of my wallet and put it inside the machine, making tokens come out. I gave half of them to Katie while I took the rest.

"So what game should we play first?" Katie asked.

"It's your decision, Katie. You can pick any game you want depending on how many tokens you have." I said.

Katie then looked around until she saw a game called "Sharpshooter". "How about we play that game?" she suggested.

I looked over at it and raised an eyebrow. "Huh, that's a new one." I said as we walked over to the machine.

The game had a two player mode, so we were able to put tokens in two slots. The game had two plastic laser guns that were used as controllers, we picked them up and started playing.

Sharpshooter was simple, Katie and I had to use our guns to move our target cursors on the screen to aim at the alien creatures that we were suppose to kill. I was doing pretty well on my part while Katie on the other hand was doing a lot better. I wasn't too surprised by this since I've seen her use her gun all the time.

After spending one hour of game play, Katie and I managed to make it to the final level where we had to shoot down a large number of alien creatures. We ended up losing most of our lives in the process, but we managed to get through the enemy wave just in time to get to the final boss.

We both went wide eyed as we saw that the boss was a giant alien creature called the queen.

"Wow, that is one huge alien." I stated.

"Yeah, it is. Let's kill it!" Katie said with excitement.

While we were fighting the boss, some of the teenagers in the arcade saw what we were doing and came over to watch.

Katie and I paid no attention as we continued to shoot at the boss while preventing her from attacking. We got hit a few times, but managed to keep going as we saw that the boss's health bar was halfway down.

However, once we inflicted more damage on the queen, she started unleashing her attacks faster, barely giving us enough time to react. We took massive damage, causing our health bars to go down until they were red; indicating that we were almost dead.

However, Katie and I stood our ground as we shot at the queen simultaneously, causing her health bar to go down until it dropped to zero. This made the alien queen flash red until she exploded into pieces with green blood flying everywhere.

Katie and I exhaled in relief as we looked on the screen to words pop up that said "congratulations, you have beaten Sharpshooter!"

At that moment, the group of teenagers that were watching us suddenly cheered loudly with praise, making us turn around to look at them. We both looked at each other with confusion until small smiles came to our faces as we shared a high five.

After spending half an hour of playing more games, Katie and I decided to leave the arcade to see what else we could do.

"I can't believe that you beat that guy's high score on "Rats and Mazes". I said as we walked through the mall.

"I can't believe it either. And it was the first time that I ever played that game." Katie said.

"Not to mention that the guy also asked you out." I stated.

"I know. It was flattering and all, but I wasn't interested." Katie said.

"Why not?" I asked curiously.

"Because he's not my type. I mean he seems like a nice guy and all, but he's not the kind of soul mate that I like." Katie admitted.

"Then what kind of soul mate do you like?" I asked.

Katie then looked at me with an amused smile. "None of your business you dork." she said before punching me in the shoulder playfully.

"Ow! You know I was just kidding, right?" I said as I chuckled.

"I don't know, Hunter, it seemed like you were serious." Katie said with a playful smirk.

I returned the smirk before punching her in the shoulder as well.

"Hey! Boys don't hit girls." Katie said with an amused grin.

"Not unless I have to." I said with a smug grin.

"You are such a dork." Katie said.

We both laughed a little before I noticed a jewelry store called "Clair's" up ahead. "How about we go in there?" I said while pointing at the store.

"Sure, why not." Katie said as we walked towards the store.

Upon reaching it, we walked inside and examined the place.

The store had several glass containers with different types of jewels inside. There were also several ceiling lights shining over them which gave off a small glow. Lastly, there was a large circular glass counter in the center of the store with an adult woman standing in it. She then noticed us. "Hello there, and welcome to Clair's jewelry store. Is there anything that you like?" she asked.

"No, miss. We're just here to look around." I said politely.

The woman gave me a kind smile. "Okay. Just let me know if you and your friend need anything."

"Will do." I said as we started looking around.

While doing so, something caught Katie's eye. "Oh my god."

"What? What's wrong?" I asked while walking next to her.

"Look." Katie said as she pointed her finger at something.

I looked to where she was pointing and saw that there was something in the middle of the counter, it was another green power crystal sitting inside a glass container.

We both stared at it before walking over to the counter. "It's another crystal. But how did it get here?" I said with wonder.

"Oh this thing? I found it lying in my front yard. From the looks of it, this green crystal seems like a rare jewel." the woman said.

"How much is it?" I asked.

"$500 dollars." the woman answered.

"What?! How can it be that much?!" Katie asked with shock.

"Miss, this is a rare one of a kind crystal, I'm afraid it's $500 dollars or no deal." the woman said nicely.

Katie let out a frustrated groan before she left the store in a huff.

The woman watched her go with a concerned look before turning to me. "Is she alright?" she asked.

"I don't know, but I'll go talk to her." I said as I walked away.

After exiting the store, I looked around for Katie and saw her in the distance sitting down against a wall in a fetal position.

I walked over to where she was and stopped in front of her. "Katie?"

"What?" she said in a cold tone.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

Katie looked up at me with an angry look. "No I am not okay! Another power crystal is in our reach and we can't get it because the damn thing costs $500 dollars!" she yelled with frustration.

I gave Katie a concerned look. "Look, Katie. I understand that you're mad, but I'm sure that we'll find a way to get the money to buy the crystal." I said, trying to make her feel better.

"And how do you suppose we do that?" she asked with an unconvinced look.

I tried to think of a solution, but nothing came up. "I don't know, but we can't just give up hope." I said strongly.

I appreciate the effort, Hunter. But there is no way that we can afford the crystal with such an outrageous price." Katie said, feeling doubtful.

After hearing her words, I realized that she had a valid point, but that wasn't going to stop me from giving up.

I then got down on one knee before speaking. "Katie, I made a promise to you saying that we'll find a way to help your family. And do you know why I'm keeping this promise? Because I'm your friend, and friends don't give up on each other no matter what." I said in a serious voice.

Katie looked at me in silence before she buried her face in her knees.

Realizing that she wasn't talking, I stood back up. "I'm going to look around to see if there's any options I can use earn enough money." I said as I turned around and walked away.

Katie then lifted her head up as she watched me go. She felt like calling for me to come back but decided not to. She then put her head back down while feeling regret for her behavior.

I walked around for 20 minutes and realized that I wasn't getting anywhere. "How am I suppose to earn enough money to buy that crystal?" I thought.

While I continued walking, something caught my eye, it was a red poster taped to the window of a nearby store. I walked over and took it off before reading it.

"Come and have the opportunity to compete in a motorcycle race called The Ultimate Challenge.

"The lucky winner will receive a check for one thousand dollars. If you wish to compete, come to the center of the mall and take the elevator down to floor zero."

My mind was then made up. I was going to win the prize money and get that green crystal for Katie's sake.

Before I could walk away, I suddenly felt something grab my shoulder. I turned my head to see Katie who had a look of guilt and sorrow on her face. "Hunter, I..I wanted to apologize for my behavior back there. I thought about what you said and you're right, friends shouldn't give up on each other no matter what." she said.

I turned around gave Katie a warm smile. "I accept your apology, Katie. And guess what? I found the solution to our problem." I said as I showed her the poster.

After reading it, a shocked look came to Katie's face. "One thousand dollars?!"

"Yeah, and I'm going to earn it by competing in the ultimate challenge." I said with confidence.

"Are you sure? This seems like a long shot." Katie said.

"Yes, I'm sure. I've made my decision, I'm going to enter this race." I said strongly.

With that, Katie and I walked off.

After arriving at the elevator, we then proceeded to take floor zero as we started going down.

After riding for 20 minutes, the doors opened as we stepped out. Katie and I grew shocked looks as we saw where we were.

We were in a large underground area with spot lights leading straight into a large coliseum.

"Holy shit, I never knew that the mall had an underground coliseum." I thought.

We then regained our focus as we both nodded to each other before making our way towards the coliseum's entrance.

Once inside, Katie and I looked around saw that the whole coliseum had a full audience, much to our surprise. We also saw that there was also a jumbo-tron with four screens hanging over the coliseum with strong wires and chains. Lastly, there large spotlights shining all over the coliseum to provide lighting.

We then looked on the other side of the coliseum to see a large throne with stairs in front of it. We also saw three more teenagers standing in front of the throne as if they were waiting for someone. I then started walking my way towards the throne, but Katie put her hand on my shoulder to stop me. "Good luck, Hunter." she said with a smile.

I turned my head to her and smiled back. "Thanks, I'll need it." I said as Katie took her hand away and walked off to join the audience.

I turned my attention back to throne as I took a deep breath. "Well, here we go." I thought before I continued making my way towards the throne.

After reaching it, I took the time to get a good look at the other challengers. The first one was an African American boy, he had light brown skin, dark brown eyes and short black dreads. He wore a dark grey T-shirt with black jean shorts and dark grey tennis shoes. He was 5'9 and had a lean muscular build. The second challenger was an American boy who had short ginger red hair, emerald green eyes and black glasses. He wore a bright red T-shirt, light brown cargo shorts and light red tennis shoes. he was 5'8 and had a natural medium build. The third and final challenger was a Hispanic girl, she had white skin, dark brown eyes and light brown hair that was tied in a slightly long ponytail. She wore a black and light grey striped T-shirt with black sweat pants and dark grey tennis shoes. She was 5'7 and had a slim natural build.

I then saw a door open from behind the throne as a man appeared with a microphone in his hand. He wore a white buttoned collar shirt with khaki pants and brown shoes. "Well, everyone, it's time for the ultimate challenge; whoever's interested in participating should write their name down and put it in this box." the announcer said as he pointed to a box with a slot on top of it.

The challengers and I then formed a line in front of the throne's steps as we walked up and wrote our names on pieces of paper. After putting them in the box, we all went back down the steps and waiting for the announcer to pull them out. Once he did, he then proceeded to call our names out. "Our four lucky racers are Hunter, Simon, Rick and Amber!" he said as the audience cheered loudly.

At that moment, four male riders appeared in the coliseum with four blue sport like motorcycles. They all stopped in the center of the coliseum as they got off the bikes and walked away.

The challengers and I then walked to the center and got on our bikes. We suddenly felt the ground shake from under us as we all lowered down into another underground area that was revealed to be a tube tunnel that was lit up by ceiling lights.

"Alright, racers, listen up! All you have to do is drive though lit up rings all throughout the track. If you miss even one ring, you are out of the race. Whoever crosses the finish line first wins. Good luck and drive fast!" the announcer said before he started the countdown. "3, 2, 1, go!"

We all then drove off into the tunnel as we came up to the first ring and passed through it. We then rode towards the next one and passed through that one and the one after that.

We were all driving our bikes as fast as we could with every passing minute. At this point, Simon and Amber were fighting to take the lead while Rick and I were behind them trying to pass each other.

After we passed through a number of rings, Simon grew tired of fighting as he moved his bike forward, allowing himself to take the lead. Amber noticed this as she tried to pass him, but Simon saw her and started moving his bike in front of her to prevent her from passing.

Meanwhile, I was having trouble with Rick as we tried to pass each other. I then noticed more rings coming up as I shot my bike past Rick and went through them. Rick was surprised by my sudden act as he proceeded to pass through the same rings while to trying to keep up with me.

With Rick behind me, I then turned my attention to Simon and Amber as I tried to keep up with them. Amber was still struggling to pass Simon as he kept doing the same trick over and over which was starting to annoy her. "Get out of my way!" she said with irritation.

Simon smirked as we all passed through more rings. "Sorry, sweet heart. No can do, I've got a race to win." he said with confidence.

Amber gave him a slight glare before she thought of a devious plan. She then drove her bike to the right as Simon did the same thing, she quickly drove to the left and shot past him, catching him off guard. I managed to pass Simon while he was distracted as I saw a turn coming up with another ring. I easily drove through the turn while passing through the ring, Simon drove after me as he went through the same ring with Rick following behind.

While I was trying to catch up with Amber, Simon rammed his bike into my vehicle from behind which nearly made me loose control as I kept going. He then did it again as I turned my to glare at him, he glared back as he attempted to ram me again, but I quickly zoomed forward, forcing him to miss. I then passed through another ring as I finally caught up with Amber and drove beside her.

Meanwhile, Rick had managed to catch up with Simon as they tried to pass each other. Simon grew a devious grin as he rammed his bike into the side of Rick's, Rick gave him an annoyed look before he did the same thing. This went on for a little bit until Simon punched Rick across the face; nearly making his glasses fall off while losing some control on his bike.

Simon the saw another ring come up as he went through it while Rick ended up missing, unfortunately this meant that he was out of the race. Rick then stopped his bike before pounding his fists on it in frustration.

Meanwhile, Amber and I continued driving neck to neck while trying to pass each other. I then pressed my foot down on the gas pedal which gave me enough speed to pass Amber. I drove through another turn while passing through more rings with Amber following me with no problem.

While I was in the lead, Simon managed to catch up as he drove beside Amber while giving her a small glare. "You're going to wish that you hadn't pulled that stunt on me." he growled.

"I only did it because you weren't playing fair." Amber growled back.

Simon scoffed. "Whatever. Get out of my way." he said as he passed her.

Meanwhile in the coliseum, Katie and the crowd watched through the TV screens as we continued racing while going through more rings. "Come on, Hunter! You can do it!" Katie yelled, rooting for me.

Back on the track, me, Amber and Simon passed through more rings as I continued to take the lead. "I think I might actually win this thing." I thought with confidence.

However, my thoughts were broken when Simon caught up beside me. "Not bad, kid. You might actually have a shot of winning." he said.

"Uh, thanks." I said while feeling a little surprised.

Suddenly, Simon threw a punch at me, I quickly dodged, forcing him to miss as we passed through another ring. "Hey, man. What's your problem?" I asked with a slight glare.

"My problem is that you might get in my way. So buzz off!" Simon said before he attempted to punch me again, I quickly dodged again as I drove myself to the left, preventing Simon from reaching me.

At that moment, Amber caught up as she drove in between us while we passed through another ring. Simon growled as he rammed his bike into her vehicle, making her move towards me, I quickly zoomed forward while Amber managed to gain control on her bike. "What the hell?!" She said while glaring at Simon.

"Stay the hell out of my way!" he growled as he drove ahead of Amber to catch up to me.

After we passed another ring, Simon caught up to me again, except he was a little further away from me. He rammed into mine, but I managed to stay on course as we passed through another ring and the one after that.

While Simon and I tried to pass each other, Amber caught up to us on my left side as I found myself in between her and him.

At this point, Simon finally had enough as he growled in frustration before glaring at me. "I've had just about enough of you!" he yelled before throwing a punch at me, I ducked my head down, forcing Simon's fist to slam into Amber's face; nearly making her lose control. Once she got it back, Amber gave Simon an angry glare. "You son of a bitch!"

I quickly drove forward while Amber rammed her bike into Simon so hard that they both fell off their bikes while crashing on the ground as they missed a ring, indicating that they were out of the race.

Once the two teens recovered, Simon roughly grabbed Amber by her shoulders. "You little brat! You've cost me the race!" he growled while giving her a sharp glare.

Amber glared back as she slammed her knee in Simon groin, making him grunt in pain as he let her go while falling against the ground. "Serves you right, asshole." she said.

Meanwhile, I continued driving through the track until I saw another ring up ahead, I drove towards it until I passed through while crossing the finish line. I then hit the brakes on my bike as I came to a stop.

Katie and the crowd cheered loudly as Rick, Simon and Amber joined me on their bikes while the platform we stood on rose back up until we were in the coliseum. Afterwards They all left while the same male riders came and took the bikes away, except for mine. I then waved to the crowd with a smile on my face.

"Congratulations, Hunter, you have won the race! But now it's time for the special bonus round." the announcer said to me.

"Bonus round?" Katie and I said in unison.

The announcer then continued. "Against the unbeatable champions, the Blazing Nitros!"

The crowd cheered with praise as 2 teenage girls drove into the coliseum and stopped in the center a few feet away from me. They both waved to the audience while blowing kisses to them.

I couldn't help but stare at the girls with wide eyes. "Whoa.." I said as I took the time to get a good look at them. The first girl had white skin, dark brown eyes and black shoulder length hair that was curly. She wore a black T-shirt, dark grey jean shorts and black low heeled biker boots. She also had a slender build. The second girl had the same appearance as her sister, except her curly hair was tied in a ponytail. She wore a dark purple T-shirt with a pink heart on it, dark blue jean shorts and dark purple high top converse shoes. She had a slender build as well.

"OK, I'm not going to lie, they look hot." I thought.

"Whoever wins the final race will receive the grand prize." the announcer said as he held up a check for one thousand dollars.

The twins noticed me as they walked over to talk. "So you're the lucky racer, huh?" the first girl asked.

I nodded. "Yeah, that's me."

She then gave me a kind smile. "Well, it's nice to meet you. My name is Lola and this is my twin sister, Chloe."

"Hi." Chloe said cheerfully while waving to me.

"My name is Hunter." I said with a kind smile.

"Cool name. I wish you the best of luck out there." Lola said.

"Thanks, same to you and your sister." I said.

"Alright, racers, get ready for the special bonus round!" the announcer said as the twins and I got in position on our vehicles.

The platform beneath us lowered down until we were on the same track again.

"Remember, you have to go through every single ring on the track. Miss even one ring and it's over. Good luck and drive fast!" the announcer said.

"Well, this is it. The race of my life." I thought.

The announcer then proceeded to make the countdown. "3, 2, 1, go!"

We all drove off into the tunnels as we came to the first ring and passed through it, while coming towards another one and passing through that one. I managed to stay beside the twins as I kept going, but it didn't last long as they picked up speed and drove ahead of me while passing through another ring.

I went through the same one as I tried to pick up speed. I then pressed my foot down on the gas pedal which made me move a little faster as I tried to keep up.

Meanwhile, Lola and Chloe drove through more rings with ease as they both felt the rush. Suddenly, I drove past them, much to their surprise, but they shook it off and drove after me.

I drove through a few rings as I turned my head to see that the twins were not far behind. I stepped on the gas to make myself go faster, but Lola drove past me while Chloe drove beside me. We all went through another ring as Chloe drove in front of me while Lola was in the lead.

As we passed through another ring, I glanced at the walls of the tube tunnel and thought of a plan; but it seemed risky. I saw another ring up ahead as I quickly stepped on the gas and drove on the right side of the wall while going around the girls and getting back on the ground. I saw the ring come up as I drove through it.

Lola and Chloe had looks of shock on their faces, but they shook them off and kept going.

A sharp turn came up as I quickly drove fast before driving on the right side of the wall and coming back down while passing through another ring. Doing this gave my bike more speed as I started driving ahead of the girls.

"This guy's good." Lola thought as she and her sister started picking speeding up

They eventually caught up with me as we all passed through more rings. With Lola and Chloe beside, they both looked at each other and nodded before they rose their bikes up on one wheel and took off with more speed.

"Wow! It looks like the Nitros are using their special wheelie moves to boost their speed!" The announcer said as he watched the girls drive ahead of me on the jumbo TV.

Back on the track, I had a look of shock on my face with my mouth hanging open. "What the? How is that even possible?" I thought with confusion.

I then shook the feeling off as I stepped on the gas pedal in an attempt to catch up. As I drove through more rings, I managed to gain enough speed to get close to the twins. I saw an opening between them as I eventually cut in, much to their surprise.

"Out of all the drivers we've faced, you're the best one so far." Chloe said.

We drove through another ring as I gave her a kind smile. "Thanks, Chloe. You and your sister aren't so bad yourselves." I said before pressing my foot on the pedal, making me drive ahead. The girls then put their front wheels back down as they drove after me.

After racing for a few minutes, the twins and I drove through more rings while struggling to take the lead. Chloe managed to get in front of me while Lola took the lead.

I then tried to go around Chloe, but she saw me and moved her bike in front of me. I tried this a few more times, but Chloe surprisingly kept track of my movements.

I eventually grew tired of this and tried to think of something to do. After we all went through another ring, my eyes widened as I had a brief flashback of Amber faking Simon out. I then drove my bike to the right, hoping that Chloe would fall for it. To my surprise, she did. I smirked as I quickly stepped on the gas and zoomed past Chloe on the left, catching her off guard.

With the second twin sister behind me, I then proceeded to catch up beside Lola as we all drove through a few rings. I gave my bike more speed as I managed to get myself in front of her. Lola saw that I was getting ahead of her as she used her wheelie move to go faster. Chloe did the same thing as I turned my head and saw the girls gaining on me.

Meanwhile, Katie and the crowd watched as I drove through more rings with the twins not far behind. This made Katie worry a little. "Come on, Hunter." she thought.

Back on the track, I struggled to stay ahead of the girls as we drove through more rings. I then stepped on gas which made my bike thrust forward while driving at full speed.

The twins were shocked at my sudden speed as they saw me get further and further away from them.

"Whoo!" I yelled as I felt the rush.

It wasn't too long before I came up to the last ring and shot through it while also crossing the finish line for the final time.

Katie and the crowd cheered loudly with praise as Katie herself waved her fist in the air.

The twins the joined me on the platform as they both looked at me with shock and surprise. "I...I can't believe it. No one's ever beaten us in a race before." Lola said while Chloe nodded in agreement.

"I'll be honest, I didn't think I'd actually win. I'm as surprised as you two are." I said while feeling surprised that I actually won.

The platform beneath us rose up as we all came back to the coliseum.

"Congratulations, Hunter, you have not only won the bonus round, but the ultimate challenge as well!" the announcer said as the crowd cheered while chanting my name a few times.

While that was going on, I walked over to the throne as I went up the steps until I reached the announcer. We both shook hands as he gave me the check for one thousand dollars.

Meanwhile, the girls were watching me as Chloe then whispered something in Lola's ear, she nodded as they both waited for me to come back down from the throne. Once I did, the twins came over to me. "I have to admit, you did great out there on your first try." Lola said with a smile.

"Thanks, Lola. You and Chloe were great out there too." I said kindly.

"Aw, thanks." Chloe said.

"So, now that you've received your grand prize, Chloe and I are ready to give you your second prize." Lola said as a sly grin appeared on her face.

"And what might that be?" I asked curiously.

Chloe gave me a sly smile. "We'll show you." she said as she and Lola planted two kisses on my cheeks which made me go wide eyed while blushing. They both pulled away, leaving two kiss marks on my face.

Katie saw this as she had a look of surprise on her face. "Whoa, didn't see that coming." she said.

I was stunned for a moment before I spoke. "W-What was that for?" I asked.

Chloe giggled. "For proving yourself to be the best driver in the ultimate challenge. And also, because I think you're cute."

I chuckled slightly while blushing. "Thanks." I said.

"Well, I hope you enjoy your grand prize, Hunter. Bye!" Lola said.

"Bye!" I said as the twins got on their bikes and drove out of the coliseum.

At that moment, Katie walked over to me. "So how does it feel to be kissed by two girls?" she asked with a smirk.

I turned my head to face her. "Pretty damn good to be honest." I answered with a proud smile.

Later that day, Katie and I returned to "Clair's" as we approached the counter with the same woman behind it. "Ah, you're back. I take it that you and your friend have enough money to buy the green crystal?" she asked.

"Yep." I said as I took five hundred dollars out of my pocket.

Once the woman saw the money, she then grew a shocked look. "How did you get the money so fast?" she asked.

"I earned it by competing in a race." I answered with a pleased look.

After giving her the money, the woman used a key to unlock the glass case as she took the crystal out and handed it to me.

"Thanks." I said politely.

"You're welcome, sir. Have a good day." the woman said kindly.

"Alright, bye." I said as I walked out of the store with Katie following me.

Afterwards, she stored the crystal in her capsule before putting it away. "So now what?" Katie asked.

"How about we play Sharpshooter again?" I suggested.

"I would like that." Katie said with a smile.

With that, we both walked off to enjoy the rest of our day.
