Two weeks later

Mary and Ari were hanging out in their room at the OAT house. Claire had just left to go to court for her mother's sentencing, disownment of her mother, and the result of her parents' divorcing.

"Want to make spaghetti in the kitchen?" Mary asked.

"Sure," Ari replied.

"We could also make some for our sorority sisters and surprise them."

"I like that idea."

Mary and Ari headed for the kitchen. When they got there, they saw Jane standing at the stove.

"Jane, what are you doing here?" Mary asked in amazement.

"I thought I'd help out," Jane replied simply.

"That would be great," Ari said gratefully and Mary nodded in agreement.

Jane used her ghostly powers to put the ingredients on the counter. Then she used them to add water to a large pot, put it on the burner, and turn on the stove.

"That's amazing!" Mary exclaimed.

"How'd you do that?" Ari inquired.

"I used my ghostly powers," Jane admitted.

Mary, Ari, and Jane continued to chat while the food was being made. Eventually, the spaghetti was cooked along with salad and breadsticks.

Claire walked into the sorority house after the trial. She was surprised to see a meal of spaghetti with salad and breadsticks set up in the living room.

"What's going on?" Claire asked.

"We wanted to surprise the OAT house with a special dinner," Mary replied.

"How do you like it?" Ari asked.

"This is one of my favorite meals," Claire replied as she, Mary, and Ari wrapped their arms around each other.

Just then, the rest of the sorority sisters entered the room and helped themselves to the food. Amy came over to Claire and said, "This is one of the best meals I've ever had."

"Mary and Ari were the ones who cooked it," Claire admitted.

"We can't take all the credit," Ari admitted, spotting Jane standing a few feet away.

"Jane helped us out," Mary admitted and then Jane smiled and vanished. "Rest in peace, Jane."

A few moments later, Claire headed to the front of the living room. When she requested everyone's attention, the room became silent.

"I just got back from court and my parents' divorce has been granted," Claire announced. "My dad will be getting everything and my now former mother has been sentenced to twenty years in prison for involuntary manslaughter. The court allowed me to officially disown her."

The rest of the sorority sisters applauded. After the applause, Claire spent most of the night enjoying the company of her OAT sisters.

Later that night, Ari and Mary were getting ready for bed. Once they were in bed, Jane appeared in front of them.

"Great to see you again," Mary told Jane.

"I wanted to check in on you," Jane admitted.

"Rest in peace and I hope we can still be friends," Ari said.

"Now that Rachel is in prison I can rest in peace," Jane said. "The three of us will always be friends."

Jane watched Mary and Ari drift off to sleep. Then she covered them each with a blanket and vanished.
