Prayer of the Stars
Stars whisper their prayers
Before dusk outlines the horizon;
Bathe in its perfumed clouds
Iridescent of sweetest redemptions.
They blaze forth like comet tails,
Coiled in gold and copper strings,
And shroud the world in infinites
That liberate our suspending faith.
We emerge fearless,
Glorified in their nightly escape,
Shining pale reminders in light of
What we once were, but can never retain.
